  1. I hear ya JD and will endeavour to persevere BUT right now what is Tim doing that could be more important than rallying the 'troops' in their thousands on a site like this...The CA want us to do our bit but never want to speak directly to us. I really would like to hear his direct views on lurcherwork. Why not use sites like this as a platform. Lets be honest, with the right call most on here would 'storm the ramparts of Westminister' but the CA never seem to grasp that and i believe see us as a dispensible commodity, cannon fodder...
  2. It seems like an age waiting for a youngster to stop sqatting like a bitch and mature with a cock of the leg. We tend to see it as a syimble of maturity but it ain't the case. And no matter how much i know that, i still try to gee them up in my head. Yer never really get what yer wish for anyway. My youngsters favorite spot to cock his leg is on the old dogs head, on his blind side. So as soon as the old boy stops for a sniff, he ends up with a jet off piss running down his face. 'How hath the mighty fallen'..!!
  3. I'd rather lobby Tim Bonner for a difinitive 'what the feck are you doing for lurchermen'....? Of any fecker needs harrassing to overturn his views it's Tim and his cronies in the C.A.
  4. It would be nieve to think that the CA would push the government into anything other than helping hunts. At best we could hope to get a blanket repeal but though i've always fought for it i've always known the CA ain't interested in the likes of me. For lurcher & terrier folk nothing will change and its hardly a step in any direction!
  5. The family mongrel collie that could catch rabbits anywhere and then a grew (whippet/ greyhound) came along and changed my life.
  6. Do you all start working your ferrets..? With the current 'hot' topic about the working ferrets future and slap bang in the middle of kit season, I was thinking about the age most serious ferreters on here will start this years youngsters? As was discussed on the workers future thred, we know that all ferrets do not make good workers, or even workers at all...! So with that in mind, what age do you start and what steps do you take, both bringing the youngsters on and entering them. And is it all nature, lines and blood, or is it a big slap of nurture and how they are brought on to
  7. Nice pups them Chidley.
  8. We made the effort last year and splashed (no pun intended!) out on a stone bird bath last year. Not only does it look the bollocks, mounted on a big old tree stump but the results with the birds using it are spectacular... Make the effort yourselves, it's well worth it!
  9. Great beach pic's Terry, nowt better for a dog than a blast on the sand and a paddle! If that jellyfish is what you think, a Portugese Man'O War, it's got to be the best named critter on this planet..!
  10. I think game fowl are spectacular but apart from them i always feel sorry for captive birds and never think of owning one. Nothing looks more beautiful than Macaw's in wild flight and nothing looks sadder to me than them in captivity. I always think that if we can train BOP's to fly for us, why cant we train parrots? Or am i just talking daft..?
  11. I've never had a dog that seemed remotley arsed when there's been thunder and i dont know what i do, or dont do, to make em like this but i really aint complaining..!
  12. Some will, some wont. Good clubs choose sound judges that realise that lurchers should always be working dogs...
  13. Megan Fox... She's a bird i'd like to OWN..!!
  14. With a track in Glasgow and enough lads with dogs north of the border, i'm gobsmacked no one has replied....
  15. Let summer be as hot as it can and let winter bite as cold as it can and feck all this 'temperate climate' shite!
  16. Damn shame mate but 15 and a life in the field is a damn good innings. Good name for a terrier too.
  17. Anyone??? I really need to get the lurcher to a decent vet that understands knocked up toes ( local vet is useless) If no one is available that far north mate, i can only recommend you take the time to drive south down the M6, to Paul Evans in Oldham. He's as good as you can get.
  18. I've used the Meat & Bonemeal suppliment with my pups for about 20 years. Always fed well and given this as directed and have always had big sound dogs.
  19. Buy some rock sulpher from the pet shop and add it to their water.
  20. I got my youngster here feeling it at the min. Very lathargic today, looks very out of sorts. Next doors lurcher the same. Gonna get some sulpher blocks for the water.
  21. Are there many lampers in Kent...?
  22. it's a nice thought thinking years and years down the line there's new people out picking from stuff you planted years and years before. Great stuff Aldi an Lidl were both doin fruit trees for about 4 quid back in March/April. B&M were sellin them off at the end of April for a quid each. Fruit bushes even cheaper! Just try to spend the rest of the year thinking where you could stick one or two and then next year make that small effort and get it done..! And try to put sommat 'different' in, damsons, sloes, green guages etc... feck it... whatever!! I've done it local for the last five y
  23. Anyway's aint his thred. Nice lookin, well bred pup here on this one. I hope it does well..!
