  1. I had nothing to hide and as I say she was very nice about it so no problem. Any way if I want to walk along the road with a ferret and lurcher I will. I won't feel like a criminal about it. Plus the wife had the car so I didn't have a choice . Bit annoying that some one had gone to effort to make a call though. The road was quiet and passed no one walking out the village but there you go.
  2. You got stopped walking along a road? Nosey b*****ds. Tell them to piss off. lol she was good as gold just wanted me info and wished me good luck. Apparently some one had rung them up. I have to admit in me ferreting gear i do look a right scruff arse but christ I used to walk that road with a fox over me shoulder. How times have changed
  3. They are a good idea but I hate asking farmers to sign most just don't want to be bothered. They quite happy to say yea carry on but don't want bothering to sign stuff and I try to disturb them as little as possible. Saying that I got stopped this morning walking along the road but the police woman wasn't that fussed just asked if I had permission where i was heading and left it at that

  6. I make the bacon and leek one from the manual a lot its bloody lovely. 3 rashes bacon and one onion saute in the bottom add 3 or 4 leeks and 3 or 4 spuds and fill with ham stock. Press go and 20 minutes later done This week I accidently spilled to much black pepper in and it gave it some heat. One of the best soups I have made
  7. Mine also bounces from side to side when he gets close trying to preempt which way its going to go. Though the other night one didn't budge and he picked it straight after a bit of dancing lol. Strange after this amount of time though its changed tact. Just shows they never stop learning

  11. How people afford some of these rent prices I don't know they are astronomical. Any thing over 90 quid a week just seems wrong lol Some folks rent for over a grand a month how the hell is that possible Bring back the old days. granddad parked up in a lay bye we got up the next morning he said this looks lovely spot. Knocked on the guys door and bought the 4 acres and a beautiful mobile home for 4 grand job done
  12. Out of curiosity Dawn and I have never seen or used one my self as I live in wales anyway. But if they have a range of settings and you use the lowest which I gather is just a tingle and as said allows you to give the dog a tap on the shoulder at an appropriate time is that not a good thing ? especially with problem dogs and sheep ? better than having to catch the dog and give it a clout which you can't time as well and not ideal anyway. Yes maybe the dog shouldn't be in that position in the first place. But some are inclined that way it seems
  13. Same here had a good dog once that I never spent time with stock for what ever reason he just seemed to know. When he was two one morning early start in work I spotted a hare couple of fields away I lobbed him over the wall and off he went. Lost it then started coming back and I suddenly realised he had to come back straight through a flock and he never batted an eye
  14. I found when mine was hunting and rabbits about he was focused on them sheep didnt even register. He made his error when were just walking and a few moments before he had a made moment belting around. I thought at the time this isnt the best moment to test him and I should have listened

  16. I put loads of time into mine from the word go even when he was house bound with his injury I plonked him in the boot and drove to gate way just to keep at it. Kept at it through the summer then this season off the lead working around them and going well and I was relaxing more. Then one day decide to test him and walk straight through a flock. Not my best idea and I was gutted at the time. But it probably done us good as I like to think he was testing to see how far he could get away with and he found out not far. I made it clear wasn't happy and since he won't even lo
  17. I would be optimistic if you were to pack the dog away for best part of a year as far as work goes. Might never make a 100% but could still do a bit and be good for you both
