  1. well to keep the pie theme going lol we had a baking day as it was lashing down. Old muttly was on form last night 5 out of 6 so we had a few rabbits for grub and stopped Braised in cider with leek and streaky bacon. Picked meat off the bone and reduced the sauce and added a dash of cream. Also made some stewing steak pies and threw some black currants in a bit of left over pastry for a desert pie as well
  2. Eddie done well bit of a tough old boot him As a transvestite comic who is prone to put on weight and had never run farther than five miles, Eddie Izzard is not the obvious candidate to run 1,100 miles around Britain. But the 47-year-old stand-up and actor will today drag his aching limbs from the Olympic park to Trafalgar Square in the last of an astonishing 43 marathons he has completed in just 52 days. Pausing in sight of St Albans Cathedral to demolish a chicken mayonnaise sandwich and chocolate biscuits, Izzard admitted his charity run from London to Cardiff, Belfast and Edinburgh, i
  3. Sounds like he is used to ultra's so his body and mind is well geared up for it. I reckon he will do it and good luck to him
  4. I like that dog a lot gaz exciting as hell watching a terrier rattling through cover. Sounds like its got off to a blazing start as well. Whats like with ferrets ?
  5. Well I tried the rabbit out of the oil after about 5 days and fried it up to get crispy and it tasted a bit fishy so thumbs down on that one
  6. nice going and involving the dog as well can't beat that
  7. I think a good nose and wanting to use it with out that you are not going to find a lot if the dog is just scanning the horizon. Mine is constantly winding hedges and testing the air. Last night by the main road just on a stroll he marked some cover I couldn't do nothing about it with a dog but in the future I have a plan that involves a little stop net or two But he is on the case 24/7 and finds stuff every where also calmness and just knowing what to do with out being asked so you can relax
  8. it boils down to reliability if your line is reliable then they will all be mostly fine with any of them as for the most part there services will be on a par. Its just when you do get issues who is the best at resolving them. I rate a uk support line with an some one tidy on the end of the phone a big plus.
  9. and to add if you do get an issue they will get on the case and chase up bt if needed and check back and follow up to make sure all is fixed
  10. plusnet good service and uk support also prices are reasonable been with them years There fibre package if you are in an area for it is pretty much same as there normal broadband
  11. Puff pastry big old meaty pie with thick gravy mmmm or short crust I really don't care
  12. Nice and healthy Jok my favorite meat pigeon. Tender after an hour ?
  13. I watched Mark Gilchrist's video on youtube of boiling a rabbit until tender then taking the meat off and covering in olive oil and he says it will keep in the fridge for up to two weeks. Any one tried that way of storing for convenience ? Handy to grab a handful when ever for a recipe I have some in the fridge and the oil turned green which is apparently is normal for olive oil when placed in a fridge.
  14. had the same but even though it had another username at the top I wasn't actually logged in as them
  15. great start and welcome to the weird dewclaw club
  16. They look nice little dogs would be suited to around here with short sharp dashes and smacking cover. They look raring to go do they settle down over time ?
  17. Michelin tyre Jok no it looks very well presented
  18. I am not really qualified but practice in the house or yard and go on from there but small steps I would imagine
  19. Vast amount of dogs changing hands on the facebook groups. Its sad really poor sods stood over half a dozen rabbits the owner saying how great it is and will swap for a mars bar but there is sure to be some genuine owners in amongst it all
  20. prime ground mate thank you not quite so prime in me top pic lol
  21. Mine has bull, collie in him and I am surprised how good he is at ferreting. But I would imagine most will do it
  22. thought about a citronella collar rather than a shock you wake up grumpy your likey to zap him good
  23. I saw on here once some one zig zagged a longnet in and out so I gave it a whirl once and that worked well too In my case though I seldom have a long hedge of rabbits to go at its a case of the dog marking and maybe one rabbit out or two if I am lucky. So its often down to how much net am I prepare to set for one rabbit or more importantly carry as I need to travel light
  24. Stop nets are very handy in them situations. but I am like you if I can get a purse net on I will. I need to use stop nets more. I spent an age the other day literally on me stomach crawling about in the hedge. I left the dog round one side and he had his rabbit but the one my side slipped the net and nipped out in the field. A well placed stop net or two could have saved a few thorns in me scalp and I would more than likely have caught the rabbit.
  25. watch the whippet don't grab ya parrot
