The Old " Rule Of Thumb" Zero.
PLEDGEY replied to mark williams's topic in General Airgun Discussion
I like the drawn pigeon target :-) I think some people get too fixated on trying to put pellet after pellet in to a bulls eye on a card target. Personally I use stencils of a rat, rabbit and a magpie made from ply wood. I place them over what ever I have at hand, might be a wooden pallet, card board box or what ever, and spray over the stencil with road marking paint. This leaves a nice visible life size target. I shoot at these targets and I can tell by the placement if I would have made a kill or not. If it's not a kill I know the scope needs a tweek/re-zero as I've had my AA S410 so long no -
Would Love Some Information On The Cz 452 .22Lr !
PLEDGEY replied to fox assasin's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
I have 2 CZ 452's. One in .22 and one in HMR. This is just my opinion but I have fitted trigger kits to both and it makes the world of difference. Before the pull was very heavy and you could pull it off target, now it's really nice and light on both rifles. I also took a Dremel to the stock which is is directly under the barrel, you can slide a £20 between the barrel and stock now quite easily so there is nothing touching the barrel. Before this I could feel a £20 dragging, with a bi-pob fitted it might have meant the stock and barrel were touching, now I'm certain they are not. If you get granted a shot gun cert you can have any shot gun you want. You can also have as many as you want, there is no restriction on number. The only thing that limits your number is the size of cabinet.

This was a couple of weeks ago. Pest controllers from Anglesey Council killed a colony of rare Welsh Black Bees after mistaking them for wasps,......professional pest controllers,.....mistook bees for wasps. Bosses are looking to see if procedure was followed. What procedure????. I would have thought it would have gone some thing like this; Go to wasp job, turn up at wasp job, wasps is bees not wasps, don't kill bees because they ain't wasps. http://www.express.co.uk/news/nature/823556/Honeybees-killed-rare-pest-controllers-mistaken-wasps-Wales

Try turning the power down. You'll get a greater arch but it might improve the group. I know that some pellets just get wild in my AA S410 when the power is too much. Turn it down and they group better.

The scope you have on there already is fine. You can get carried away buying stuff you don't need some times. instead buy a nice pop up hide with the money or a range finder ....that's what I would do :-)

I do lock picking as a little side line. There are picks out there that'll get you into anything. On my front and back doors I have fitted 5 lever mortice locks. These can still be picked but you need an element of skill to do it. 'Yale' type locks are a piece of piss. I have a Klom electric pick gun and, once you have the nack, as there's a bit of technique to it, you can open almost any barrel lock. In the back of my Transit I have van vaults but I've replaced the pad locks with disc detainer locks as these are harder to pick. There are no pins in them as they use discs to operate the mechan

As above. If they ask why you want 17HMR and 22lr say HMR for the day and 22lr for at night with N/V because it's quieter, This is how I use them. Also the HMR has less ricochet than a 22lr.

I use the Napier patches in my gun cabinet and I spray the inside of the cabinet with the Napier spray. I use Napier pellet oil on the pellets as well. These Napier products have got , I think it's called, VP90 in it. It's a water dispersant and stops rust. I used to get bloody mould on my S410's walnut stock before I started using the Napier. http://www.napieruk.com/acatalog/Oils__Cleaners_Etc.html

Don't forget a silencer on your application and ask for 600 rounds. When you're down to your last 100 you can then go and buy a brick of 500.

Thought I better add it was a name GIVEN to me.....I didn't choose it. I mean, who would want to have a nick name after an old woman from a bloody 60's comedy FFS. Still, I seem to be stuck with it now.

Weihrauch Pcp, Air Arms Pcp...or?
PLEDGEY replied to Bornagainyorkshire's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
I've had my AA S410 in .22 for a bout 9 years. It's a great gun and I can't fault it. At 30 yards it's shooting a group a 5 pence will cover and I've never cleaned the barrel, not once. So I would say go for an AA S410 :-) -
I looked high and low to find info with no success. Put a post on here and BOOM!.....I get the full bifter. Cheers, much appreciated.
