    HMMM... big difference in human beings doing their driving test and a terrier self entering!!! human beings have been spoilt by opinions, society, money and everything else that wrecks what we have grown to love but take for granted........just look at this ridiculous topic! the terrier knows none of this and as far as he is concerned he has been born to be bold and rebellious but with a cautious hand, be inquisitive yet sensible and go underground and flush... or stay to dug to with vermin, because un be nonce to the terrier if bred right thats what his whole DNA will be built up of ....

    Just read this whole thred...... some sensible replies...... then some just are a joke.... why would anyone want or encourage a young.terrier or any terrier running empty spots? Some of the replies i have read on here makes me wonder how men are actually conducting their business and why terrier work is under the micro scope. and i see a few regular posters on here admitting to illegal activities....hole ending, the baiting of an animal!! never has and never will have anything to do with terrierwork! ruins more terriers than enough and what is the point.... get him a few nips?..... ego?

    terriers have never been about the money for me ----had some cracking gear on my hard over the years for both jobs and if i wanted could of weighed in -----------------------works where i earnt my money terriers have been where i got away from work why spoil it .. I always thought there was something a wee bit iffy bout you stig...... .

    I personally dont think every working terrier line has sporting blood added but a good majority would have dabbled and probably a few generations back! some will admit it, some wont! but i see some people on here saying terriers from say 40s or 50s, and saying thats history lol! i think anyone saying this should check the truth about the true woking terrier.... the terriers role is to go underground.... and since then the true dedicated men are only interested in this.. dogs being able to get to ground and stay til the job was done!. not what they look like or what line they have come from! l

    whernt a lump of a dog straight spanable good length of neck, turn of stifle well muscled and well put together ..What was he like when you were digging over him Stig, dont remember digging the dog i took some time out from terriers around that time because my business had took off and i had a young family to bring up... I saw him work in surrey about 91ish. Did his job on the day. Had a dog out of him and a bitch called oil which was a decent hard dog.
