    .Not used it myself mate ,straight bull that is but have used dogs with 1/8 and 1/4 to good effect and feel this is what keeps the size ,something I've seen dwindle elsewhere .I'm fully aware its not purist but results are what its about for me .Many lines of black dogs owe a good deal to early infusion of the right bull imo which many lads are unaware of .Just out of interest D why you so against it . There was plenty about when i started out, the only thing they had in common was they were all gassy shite hounds. To big in the chest, out in the shoulder and often mute or bad in kennels.I ca

    Back in the 80s there was a man from kells who bred really good white stuff by the name of mc dowell unfortunately hes not alive anymore the last of his white stuff from derry ended up in mount charles in donegal and thats no longer about now either mores the pity.. if i was enquiring about getting white types today it would still be Ireland id be looking..

    In 2012 terrier work in Ireland was too be banned...our politicians had the wrong view on terrier work...they only had the opinion of others who had no idea how proper terrier work was conducted..even a few very big hunting orgs were going to throw terrier work under the bus so there own type of hunting would be left alone.. so a group of serious men got together and took the fight on our own straight to the very people who had previously been about to ban it..showed them how proper terrier work is actually done..and now terrier work is in the best position it has ever been in Ireland..dont l

    some fine pups being run on this summer by the looks of it, have one here myself only 8 weeks there was 2 in the litter one bitch one dog unfortunately the dog pup didn't make it past the 3rd day.. he was a bit weakly at the start then nature just took its course... great to see the bitch pup tearing about fit as fiddle...we had great weather today and the sunny days with long evenings to get them up on there feet is just around the corner...and another mate his bitch just had 7 pups 2 days ago, so hope all goes well for him..

    Arthur had the litter brother to a russell i had.. we both got them gifted as pups of the same man... who originally got his stock from jack price way back. Riley the dog i kept was a very good fox dog and speaking to Arthur a few times the brother was the same.. He loved to chat about russells and kept some very good ones..some of the first proper russells i dug over were nixon/gould stuff ... proper whites..also were better put together than chapmans with a more up and at them style.

    I dont buy the magazine weekly either, it was just this week I knew there was going to be honest working terrier articles added...wasn't a name dropping contest or my dterrier is this or that! It was about how experienced terriermen conducted themselves. so thought id take a look. I just thought the editors could have pieced the 3 terrierwork articles together better that's all. And what I mean by honest I mean the men writing the articles where actually trying to educate the future generation and the uneducated on how terrierwork is conducted when invited on to land by the farmer landowne

    anybody buy it this week? even though their was a few working terrier related articles I think they were presented very hap hazard. The John Welch interview should have had its own page, not broke into columns. The I.W.T.F. article and N.W.T.F. articles could have and should have been condensed into the one page for easier reading and reference, but good to see all the same.

    sorry fella... my mistake...I didn't see the holes drilled into the side of the boxes... But I still think the mesh vent was too small and centered..in stead of maybe a mesh vent in each partition... still a good job though.

    And drill a few extra holes as that mesh opening wouldnt be wide enough to give terriers air .
