  1. Lee Evans is good. I saw Flanigan last year and he was good but used the same material as he'd used at the Royal Variety. I liked Manning when he was around and saw him live a few times at his club. After a few pints, any fooker is funny though. That big anti John Bishop....shite! Can't stand the guy. He's trying too hard for a CBE or whatever
  2. Same reply back....I've sent mine to Bill Oddie to ask his advice...They won't get rid of me that easy!
  3. I got a Sat Nav recently from work as I was on a course up north for a week. I was one of those, "I don't need a sat nav" brigade and most of the time I probably don't, but it ceratinly served me well when I was away, I would never have found where I was going, it was all back roads. Simple to use and easy to remove when you've done with it, I'd recommend the Garmin 2200.
  4. I got a reply earlier but it was only a generic one from a no-reply source. It said my complaint was being passed on to BBC staff to read. Cnuts
  5. Once again it's a veiled attempt to have a go at ANY fecker carrying a spade or walking with a lurcher or Terrier in the countryside. The tart says there's THOUSANDS of badgers killed each year through badger baiting! What utter crap and she went unchallenged pouring her heart out while she was given free time to have a go at anyone with an interest in fieldsports. It's too late now to do anyting, the damage has been done and the antis have another free plug at disrupting our lives. Shameful propoganda by kiddie fiddlers at the BBC, alledgedly! I've just complained, for what good it will do. I
  6. You've my full support Ron, for what that's worth. Now the wife has a kindle (that I bought her for christmas), I'll stick one or two of those books on it. Having had a sneaky read of the Ullswater book I'd say that will be in demand, it's a good read. Good luck, see you soon. Oh, by the way, I called to see Neil last week. He has some crackin' old photos that I've never seen before. Excellent stuff.
  7. Paper licenses don't need replacing, it's just the plastic card type with your photo on. For obvious reasons, the photo will need updating every ten years.
  8. Yep, I use meths too and soak it for just a few days even. After I take it out I prefer to wash it under the tap and with a whipping motion take off any excess water. They come up real nice once they've dried out. I've got quite a few hanging in the shed, some from years ago.
  9. Loads on the farmland around here, feckin nuisance, they want banning and the people that set them off fining for littering the countryside.
  10. The cost to treat and provide water is unbeliveable. I work in the water industry and it would take a book to tell you about the treatment involved, from removing the colour, taste and bacteria etc to maintaining the infrastructure on catchment areas and reservoirs to piping it to your homes. And no, I don't get a discount on my bill, I pay the same as the next mug! Visit a treatment works if the offer comes up at an open day and you can see for yourselves
  11. As Ferguson said, "They're Just a wee team from the north east".
  12. We had our meet today and had a feckin' great day out on the moor, same meet as you came to Leveller when you was up at my place. We had the grand total of.....five followers out today that did the distance, others drove around the roads for an hour, drank all their coffee then departed by 10am. No cap, no photos, we were on one. We came off at 3pm after a delay while the dragman soaked his rag again. I support all forms of hunting and anyones right to do it. I won't be told what I should do with my life and my time here, I'll do what pleases me and hunting ticks that box, always has! Enjoy it
  13. Pugs And Drummers by Marchington struck a chord with me and it's got a cracking bibliography, Foxhunting On The Lakeland Fells by Clapham got me started on fell hunting and Memoirs Of A Gamekeeper, Elveden1868-1953 is an excellent read on a winters night. The chapter on poaching is an eye opener.
  14. Sorry folks I can't post pics but it's heartwarming to say the least. Borrow a copy if you can
  15. If ever you're feeling a little fed up or life's getting you down, take a look at the photo of the little lad in this months EDRD, page 10. Cheers me up every time and the family too. It would make a crackin' front cover on any christmas card.
  16. This photo has appeared on here before, several years ago
  17. Besides EDRD I get Shooting Times now and then. It's still a very good read and they replace those contributors that have left us with decent guys. Cuntrymans? Pure shite
  18. Reduced to £16 inc postage, bargain
  19. Sport Light Tracer Red filter for sale, 210mm. Not been out of its wrapper so as new condition, £18 inc p&p. Will drop off locally in the north west area within reasonable distance. PM please
  20. DLT, as he liked to be called also favoured being called the Hairy Cornflake when he did the morning show. I'll bet there's a few more shitting it now especially those that did the Radio One Roadshow in their skimpy shorts, gonads hanging out. Dirty feckers
  21. We nearly turned out at the Rochdale meet but headed north for a day on the fell with horizontal snow showers! Dirty feckers
  22. Those Endurance socks are fine. You might want to put a finer pair of socks on, (liners) underneath. But really, the way to go is new, decent boots. I had my Meindle Burma pros on yesterday when out with hounds, we had horizontal snow showers, and walked through boggy ground most of the day and my feet were toastie as feck.
  23. I've a couple of taxidermy items I'm getting rid of for sale....A lovely wall mounted cased Two Barred Crossbill. This was done by Roger Fisher and he's probably the best taxidermist of birds that I've had the pleasure of meeting. Great condition, the bird is on a perch with undergrowth around it with a butterfly at its base. There is a light background sketch of a wood, a feature of Rogers work. £35. I also have a brown/red OEG cockerel. In life this bird won many shows, and I recall asking the owner, "When it falls of its perch can I could have it, I'll have done at the taxidermists?". In f
