  1. I'll go along with most of what's been said, it was a sucking-up-to-the-gullible- british-public statement, BUT I've a little time for Packham. He supports the BTO, a much better, more scientific organisation than the Arse P B. He's not as unrealistic as the others on the show, but I'm afraid he's pampering to the masses here.
  2. Yep ,, just down the road , i used to hunt the Hamilton hounds , Look me up closer the time Doh, I think we've discussed this a while ago on Liams....I'll be in touch nearer the time.
  3. Some good advice there lads. I have a CZ and can't fault it. I've a Parker Hale mod on the end of it and it does me just fine. I use Remington sub-sonics, and at around £5 for 100, they're cheap enough for me. Great little round and they stop rabbits in their tracks.
  4. Cracking photos there Coyotehunter. I'm over in Cananda around this time next year, staying near Hamilton for a fortnight, are you anywhere near?
  5. Yep, I'd agree with Jim. The area around the kidneys/liver is very susceptable to disease, probably cyst, parasite etc.
  6. I had all six at one time and they took some room up on the wall. I've just got the Lunesdale print now, hanging in the hall, as it's my favourite. It costs about £40 or more to get a decent frame on them, so I suppose the price isn't too bad. Lovely prints.
  7. A mate, who's also a FAD, loads .22 Hornet rounds for me and enters them on my certificate as "Given".
  8. Poacher I'd say thast this is lively, good banter, most meant as trying to be helpful, I wouldn't worry too much fella. Try and hit the fox in the napper next time though.
  9. That's how it should be done, mop the lot up. What round were you using Poacher?
  10. It could be a Marsh Orchid Fragle. Get yourself a second hand book on wild flowers, they're cheap enough. I always carry one when I'm in work, makes the day a little bit more interesting.
  11. I can't seem to find anything on here when I do a search for the Accu Cover aiming device, so if this has been covered before, apologies. Has anyone tried this device and if so what are your opinions?
  12. you might find it sad mate but a sadder photo would be a release pen those two had got into or when they squeezed under the electric fence on a free range chicken farm and got to the sheds when theyre a couple of months older makes no difference to me what age they are on the shoots/farms we do the foxing on, if we find a litter, after we get the adults, a fox is a fox, they all grow into the same thing so the cubs will be dealt with. not always a pleasant job but its vermin control after all. i dont suppose anybody would say a thing if the lad had shot a bagful of branching rooks
  13. I'd say wait a while before you take the plunge fella, your bodies still growing and will do until you're around 19-20 years old. Hopefully then the urge to have such a major tattoo job will have gone. I did my own many years ago and it's the worst thing I did. Beckham and the many other footballers and popstars like Robbie Williams etc are mainly responsable for what we see today, home and abroad, male AND female brits covered in pretty patterns that mean feck all and it's for life. You could do yourself a favour and hold back...you'll be glad you did.
  14. I think these do them. Jackson Rifles Parton, Castle Douglas, Scotland DG7 3NL Tel: (01644) 470223
  15. Bob, I've had a Ruger Hornet for a few months now and can't find much to fault it. I've read about it not being the best choice but what the feck do folk want it to do, sing and dance? I was a novice before christmas with firearms, accompanying a good friend,(an FAD) out as lamp man and using that experience as mentoring with him, he let me shoot and advised on all I asked. I shot my first fox with the Hornet the other night at 90 yds and it dropped like a sack of shit. It does make a fair crack but I've stuck a T4 mod on the end and it does the business fine, you just get a whoosh and light s
  16. Is it really that easy fella? I'm thinking of getting one. What tools do you need?
  17. Make sure you get your prize fella, I've had several dodgy experiences with that shop and the owner kept us waiting for an age at the Shooting show, so long in fact that we just walked away from trying to buy a shotty we were kept that long. I'd call that ignorant. I've heard of others too with grievances. Local or not I won't be using them again. Enjoy your prize.
  18. The news stations are going bananas about Bin Liner....I'd say a good day to slip in the repeal.

    MOORLAND FIRES

I could see smoke from the Woodhead valley, Londendale earlier from home. Just in time to ruin the nesting season for all the ground nesting birds. Terrible news.
  20. I would say no to that safe being passed, especially if there's any "play" once the padlocks are in place. Padlocks are easily broken off. The police like to see snug fitting doors on safes with five point locking hinges with inward return edges to deter the door from being levered off. But there again, each force interpret the law differently.
  21. (quote name='lurcher1' timestamp='1303166311' post='2020961'] did anyone see the liverpool v united youth team score I saw the FA youth cup results....and with two goals start as well.
  22. Got mine done in November, £60. Heard about the supposed hike but nothing's happened yet.
  23. Self taught drummer. I had a tasty Premier kit in my youth and played a few clubs in the North West. Used to turn out on a sunday afternoon with the group playing in front of concert secretaries looking for bookings. Happy days.
  24. I'm sure I've seen these torches mounted on the side of a scope.
