  1. I work for a utility company, outdoors all day, and have the need now and then to get the chainsaw out. Nothing major and it's not my full time job. I've got the basic training plus climbing. I enjoy felling trees when the need arises, but it can be hard work
  2. We're being governed by people who have NEVER felt grass beneath their feet, they're all pen pushers and suits with a loud voice. Why didn't they ask someone who works in the countryside how many badgers there are? Not rely on scientists or "experts" for the same thing. Just carry on with your own business
  3. I've a .22 Hornet for charlie and a rimmy for the bunnies. I've also got a .223 on my ticket but haven't got round to getting one yet.
  4. I've had three days up there this week, good do'
  5. Yep, I agree with all comments about it being no coincidence that Badgers were being mentioned almost in every sentence and that photo on the front of the calender....totally political and to keep it at the forefront in peoples minds! Bring back "Out Of Town" with say Robin Page replacing the late Jack Hargreaves and what about "Jacks Game" with Jack Charlton while we're at it
  6. Heard about Frank's demise today...RIP fella. Christ, I've worn some shoes out dancing to this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwvpeYiQwss

  8. I wouldn't mind eating Clarissa's badger...On second thoughts....
  9. I saw plenty of coons when I visited Canada recently along with Beaver, a great place to visit. Do the Coon put up a good defence when being dug to?
  10. I hope someone pokes his other eye out
  11. Just spent a fortnight over in Ontario. Saw all manor of fantastic wildlife...but no bears. A wonderful place to visit, topped off by a visit to Niagra Falls
  12. You know what they say about a man with a big collar on his shirt? He had those women in the audience gagging for it, lucky bas**rd.
  13. The antis have a petition going to try and get the Meynell banned from hunting on National Trust land. Besides it being very bad news for the Meynell, it could have a knock on effect for other packs in the future. This is our response to the antis petition, please sign it, ta Cragman http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/allow-the-meynell-south-staffs-hunt-on-national-trust.html
  14. It's a good book, well researched but with some inaccuracies about those that were unable to answer for themselves. Some of the fellas from the lakes just told Plummer what he wanted to hear. The introduction and chapters before he gets onto the profiles is probably the best part of the book.
  15. Someone mentioned to me at Rydal hound show on thursday about the all out effort the antis will be putting in this year. Keep your eyes peeled and your head down
  16. Give me your addy fella, I'll send you one in the post. Just been watching three while on a walk with the wife, stalking rabbits until they spotted us. About 300 yards from home....Postage is a grand
  17. All the more reason for a cull in north wales then I'd say
  18. Gnasher, in this case, because between four team members, it's impossible to pull back a break that's six minutes clear on their own over such a distance. In the TDF teams are nine strong so it's easier to get a break back. There were four GB lads towing everyone along yesterday, and twenty odd guys in the break, all taking shorter turns on the front, going like f**k, it's a no brainer. Other teams should have had an interest in getting their sprinter to the line in this race. If any other of our lads bar Cav, had got into the break, I'd have put money on them winning the race. Perhaps they sh
  19. Now you sound like someone who knows what there talking about on cycling mate so can you explain to me by what you mean by "Four men is never enough over that distance"?? Surely Cavendish knows how fast he complete that course, when he has to push it and so forth. Isn't it just similar to a Marathon runner? ..... The GB team had to do all the driving to try to get the group back, they had no help from the other teams as most of the other teams had a man or two in the break, so why should they help to bring them back? They were more or less saying to GB, "if you want to catch the breaka
  20. 'Fraid not fella. Once he realised he was going to get caught by the chasers, he sat up and then got on the back of the bunch. Not that far from the finish...20-25 km?
