  1. Not taping up as such but have used and seen lads use sections of cycle inner tube 1/2" thick, you put it over two toes when greyhounds are coming back from having split a web. Stops the toes spreading so supporting the web and the ones I seen run it didn't effect their performance.
  2. Did ye no' get the answer on FB? Lol. I would say there's whippet in the mix.
  3. The exact same battery with charger is on ebay for £65.99 plus £2.99 postage. I made a buy it now offer and got one for £59 + postage, it should arrive soon. They're not as light as the Deben lithiums but a lot lighter than the sealed lead batteries.
  4. This one's long gone.
  5. Never had an issue with rabbit bones being too hard for a dog to eat.
  6. Omanyra would that pic be early 90's? The lad wae the merle used to be at Gretna dog track quite a bit in the 90's, think he [Denned] is still on this site. For whatever reason I can't use the quote function.
  7. Crackin' pics lads keep them coming. Phil, can remember them rectangular shaped lamps, was the first lamp I had, bought it out of Halfords.
  8. I would second what tiercel says, I've seen gvc's dog Max work and can't fault it and yes it's a first cross. I've got a pup here out of him she's 16 month, here she is.
  9. Looks a nice place for a bit of ferreting. Must add the auld bitch looks in fine fettle for her age.
  10. Sometimes when you cross the road you can get hit by a bus.lol. Quite possibly Slip Lead, would be interesting to see how likely that is to happen. Been jabbing bitches for near 30 year and I've yet to have a bitch with a phantom pregnancy, that's not to say it couldn't happen.
  11. I would've thought the idea was to stop them from breaking during the season [sept-March], in which case you'd only jab them when required.
  12. Steve2507 there's another option, you could suppress the bitches season, plenty of racing greyhound bitches get jabbed to stop them coming in season.
  13. Why would you expect the dogs catch rate to increase by using a mag box?
  14. Why would anyone do a thing like that? Just hope they get found out and get what they're due... Just sent a wee donation and a note, chin up Andy, wishing you a full and speedy recovery.
  15. Never have and never will take a pup out with an older dog to watch or even to run, just can't see any value in it, can see plenty negatives though. Good retrieve with the dead rabbit.
  16. Every pup is different and it's up to the handler to gauge when they're ready, I would usually start at 9-10 months but the one I've got now was over 12 months before she was mentally ready, infact for a while I just didn't think she had it in her, thankfully everything has now fallen into place and she's doing what's required. Must add I've never been one for taking a pup out on the lamp with an older dog, even if it's to let it watch. Always just took them out on there own to start with, just me and the pup which ensures there are no distractions, other dogs present can also cause issue
  17. I try and feed as much meat as I can which in the winter is mainly rabbits, I do give them some dry food in the morning and meat at night, at the moment the dry is Autarky adult salmon. Happy with results as she looks okay and is running well. Must add that even during the summer months I would never feed as low as 17/18% protein, would be looking to have them on 20% or slightly above.
  18. Doesn't surprise me to be honest, have you noticed the number of dogs going missing over the last few years. Just because some of us are genuine doesn't mean everyone is.
  19. Got mine done at main dealer last April, cost £207.
  20. Aye but that was back in the day Fuji, nowadays if you aint got a blitz and a 22amp lithium your not a proper lamper......
  21. My first was an Original 45 bought second hand for about £30 in the early '80's. Shot a fair bit of gear with it just with the iron sights.
