A Bumper Day Of Terrier Work
fox digger replied to Andrew Beirne's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
could you not detect the sarcasm and doubt in the well done posts lol ? In saying that though, in my time I've witnessed things in the field that if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes I would be saying " that's bullshit" but hey like most things I read on here I don't take to serious and with a large pinch of salt . If the lads lying it makes no difference to me its only himself he's kidding at the end of the day ! absolutely 100% correct and true, it wont make one ounce of difference to anyone eitherway, -

The Way Terrierworks Going.
fox digger replied to legacy2013's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
the police over are dicks, same as the papers did you see the Sunday world today? With the write up on the women with the dead foxes and the word banned in large bold print. Jim McDowell is a wanker who makes criminals out of innocent people with more lives than a cat Seen that Big G more anti country sports propaganda by that wan*er Stephen Philpot. but this should be a lesson to those who post photos and videos of lurcher and terrier work on the internet. Its fuelling the campaign against us. All they need is a photo and they can write all the bullshit they want about it to brainwash the -
Anyone With A Bitch In Season?
fox digger replied to roybo's topic in Working Dog Health & Training Talk
roybo im not saying that it will work but they alot of lads i know swear by them, royal jelly capsules, one a day same time every day, 10-15 days and she should be on the ball.. ive been waiting on my bitch for a long time and a lad told me to try these, went to health food shop, 12euro for jar of 30 tabs, bitch broke down on her 8th day of them...... may just be a coincidence i dont know!! either way they are good for them so nothing ventured nothing gained. -
very cheap to knock up lads and isnt beyond the capabilitys of anyone who is a bit handy at the ole DIY.get old starter motor of any old car, even a motorbike one if your not putting miles of string on it, and a spool of some sort.(electric fence wire spools are perfect or the mig welding wire spools).

and fools seldom differ mate!!!

no they wont run as far mate, thats mainly why they are used, handy places in hunt it out no dogs gone on a missed fox, good ones may go a bit but nothing to the same extent as full beagles who when they loose a line will stay casting and searching to pick it up again and hunt a staler trail better than the teagles or speagles as you call them! not insulting your foxhounds but i cant see if they were decent dogs how they would not run on a hot trail and work it as good as your beagles, that is as has been said what they are designed to do.

the greyhound was origianlly bred for its speed, it has poor stamina, that doesnt mean it wasnt upto scratch to breed from as it done well for what it was bred to do. the saluki was the same, bred for running but bags more wind than the hound, the two were put together to produce a different type of dog but done the same thing as both parents but to a better standard, hence good parents but tried to improve the pups and got the most common hare dog there there is today, a specific greyhound that was tried and tested in its job and proved suitable to breed from put to a saluki with sim

oh your having a laugh.... almost 600pound........ that is complete extorsion, there is profit and there is taking the piss, the dog would want to have had open heart surgery and lung TRANSPLANT to justify that bill...... i would source a cheaper vet next time jocky, atb and i hope the bitch makes a full recovery,
-
im in agreement roy. if the bitch is making you happy with what she is doing and capable of doing then surely if she is comming or has reached the end of her career then breeding off her to get the same or better would be the better option than to go travelling all over looking at others work, possible see one do the things you like and make a decission based on one nights/days graft when in reality that same dog may have done or does things that would make you run a mile but on the day of seing it work it ticked all the boxes....... unless the same person owns the dog put to the bitch then yo

To Those Who Have Ever Wondered What A Real Man Is...
fox digger replied to tb25's topic in General Talk
wow.......... no words, what can anybody say to describe that, it is beyond words, beyond normal dedication and almost beyond belief that this father has the courage, strenght, determination and most of all love for his son to attempt such a feat......... i have to say that pulled on the heart strings after watching that and trying to imagine how they both felt crossing that line..... -
