  1. thats not a jacker, the lad doesn't seem to know the score with this situation all he knows is the dog stopped running and wants to know if it will happen again. read into the situation not just the words. the dog DID NOT JACK. he burned out, without doubt. plus my friend you have just proven to everyone you are in no position to comment on this topic and tell this inexperienced guy what to do. first time stopping for this dog rit..... you say "shoot it", yet you say about your terrier that you gave it several chances and kept trying it.. so obviously YOU didn't "shoot it" when i thought you w
  2. door always open to huntin folk springer! ive a very good springer dog Here(gerry the springer) so make sure ya bring a good bitch if ya commin!!! atb
  3. You got room for a lodger, and a couple more dogs?
  4. It will just be the fox hunts!! they already making deals behid our back, The HRA http://www.themastersvoice.co.uk/2009-february/hunting-regulatory-authority.php is all about packs , so we are f****d! they asked us to stand as one with them, and now they gonna drop us like a bag of shit! exactly "I aint voting the above guys are right.Only the snobs get fox hunting with dogs." thats a very big generalisation mate, i hunt with my local hunt and i aint a snob. haven said that i do agree there is a certain amount of heirarchy still involved in fox hunting but i go simply to
  5. class act, really looks the business, a few mates and i take out our pack of beagles on the horses and hed up the mountain once or twice a year and let the lurchers run with them, summit similar and i can say it is pure class day out, great post.
  6. well done guys, every little helps and any reversal in the act is a step in the right direction and gives move leverage to get all the ban overturned. luckily we haven't experienced the ban over here but i can speak for all the hunting folk this side of the pond and say we wish ye the best and keep the preassure on, once doubt sets in it sets the wheels in motion, there is light at the end of the tunnel for all field sports. atb
  7. well done chloe, you seem to be bringing on a good dog there, he's a strong looking fecker, perfect all rounder. well done and keep the info commin on him as he progresses. atb
  8. to no. 3. grit your teeth and bite your tongue..... and then smile to yourself and say ahhh, you'll be havin him in another couple of months, good dog!!!
  9. you say you are an experienced coursing man but yet you didn't condone running an 11 month old SAPLING on any type of hare corse... this age of dog shouldn't be let loose in an area where hare is present for fear they will follow one and chances are will end up causing irreversible damage to vital organs. crazy.... instead you state that this person wasn't supposed to know the course was going to be as long..... again this dog shouldn't have been off the lead..who can ever guarentee how long or short a course will will be once a hare has ground under him i agree...... reguardless its total lac
  10. handy collie grey or 3/4 colly gey is quite sufficient for most choirs at night IMO... saluki's have their job as do all dogs but i dont think they excell at night work, thats not to say there are not exceptions but in general, there are a few traveler lad here local to me and thats all they use at night.... pretty sure they only after long ears tho.

  12. ive had the pleasure of owning and working three first cross bulls, when i say pleasue its debaitable i suppose. i got a bull/hound x bull/hound in from wales as a mature dog. i was told he was line bred pye dog. big monster of a dog. had been runnin certain game at nite and had developed quita an agressive nature, prob due to getting broke up everytime he caught one. anyway this dog was pure crazy. like a pom in the yard during the day but once out at night nothing was safe, he ran a fox one night and left running him to persue a big hunting horse(luckily one of my own) and locked straigth on
  13. cheers kittlerox, is it common? can it harm ferrits if they enter a hole with it??
  14. As a rule of thumb with 20month old dogs the penny is just starting to drop, very very few genuine doggy men sell this age dog unless its tried and shows sum major fault that he/she cant fix or they have put no time into the dog and tried bringing it out and it was a disaster. so its straight on the market as a promising unspoilt lurcher! you cant buy a good 20month old dog, moral is pedlers advertise dogssimilar to this age as its ready to bring out and crack on wit but really it has no 'at home' work done and is totally green. luckily for you it sounds like your lad is green so you have the
  15. tricky one this, you didn't say he cant keep water down so id try SILVER WATER. dont no how ye are fixed for it over ther but health food shops do it here in IRL. its great to clear a dogs system and get them thriving again.
  16. ye will have to take up residence this side of the pond lads, feet wore off the dogs from runnin the bunnies!!! only slaggin, mexi down my end used to reek havoc but not as common these days, have come accross white balls in some holes from time to time and when i inquired i was told it a new form of rabbit control, when it gets damp it releases sum sort of stench or gas that kills them.... true or false i dont know but def found several of these white powdery balls, golf ball sized and white, ever come accross them?
  17. hi all, is megan still withyou gin? i am going to get onto chartpolski now about delta's sire, as you kindly recomended, could be onto a winner going down that road, end up with animals similar to the standard here and id be a very happy camper! cheers gin.
  18. just to add my 2 cents, ive had 4 full hounds in the last few monts to try get sumtin decent to breed a lurcher from, all got from local trainers, and all bitches, 1st........... track bitch, 2 years old, not upto scratch on track, shy, nervous. zero prey drive, no recall, dead loss, ran away one got a snap from charlie, even with other dogs. 2nd........... track bitch, 4 year old, won a couple of races, not hectic ped so not worth breeding pure breds from, gamey..ish.. bad recall, contrary with other dogs, fine on bunnies not for charlie. 3rd.......... track bitch, 4 year old same
  19. last few days of the hunting season...roll on the cubbing.

  20. hey lloyd, put my name on one of those pups mate if the bitch is decent. and CP your bitch looks the bizz. if breeding off her let me know, will bring on two or 3 pups together and hopefully get summit decent in the end. well impressed, ideal dogs for my game and area, i.e small flat fields.
  21. Sorry fella they have gone i split the pack to 2 lads i know not a bother lad, glad to hear ya got sorted and big plus that ya know where they are. i was in the same prediciment a few years back and had to move on the last pack i had but lucky enough now that im sorted i was able to grt pups from some of my old dogs and pick up a few here and there and even some of my old dogs back. the big advantage of bein able to keep track of them is you can always get some back if ya wanted, anyways as i said if ya fancy a change of sceneary we do a fair bit with the dogs so just drop a line,
