    Few pics from a quick walk this morn, finished hunting the beagles last weekend, i took out two terriers and the lurcher for a stroll to check a new farm i got permission on, found a few holes but nothing home unfortunatly, one poor vixen broke the wrong way off the ditch from the terriers, three turns later the lurcher bitch has it wrapped up.

    ye lads are gone mad! the best packs are way down south, the scarteens and the likes, the huntival festival shows the good from the average and hounds from the south, south/west always give an exhibition. ive given loads of hounds to lads up the north from time to time as they tell me there is fek all good hounds to be got up that way!!!

    are you any good at darts pete?? put the can standing against a wall, go back 5 or 6 paces and throw your darts till you get the bullseye!! there is fek all it will do even if it is preassurised mate, stick your bradawl in and there will be no explosion, gas or no gas, worst case is puncture near the top of the can, if there is gas in there it will come out and leave the oil at the bottom. to make it explode you need 3 elements, oxygen, fuel and lastly heat/ignition. you wont have a source of ignition by simply putting a hole in the tin so no explosion!!

    The original thread I started was about buying the right dog for the right job, mainly to avoid the moving on of dogs not suited to the type of work people think they can make them do, if you buy a gundog then normally you would shoot over it, now other dogs will do a job, I've shot over a collie and my terriers but a day on the marsh wildfowling would call for a decent gundog breed, I used to train GSP's for field trials and shot over 2 myself, well I found myself short of a lurcher one year due to the premature death of my bitch and so I found myself using my GSP dog for killing foxes in tig

    how are they to handle when your working them kate? i know a lad who tried polecat crosses and they were perfect at home to handle but put them on a ditch and they cant be touched, he pulled the pin on them for that reason........
