Washed thoroughly with a quality cleansing agent,i used to use anything that sterilised baby bottles.You can incubate 50 hen eggs that are not cleansed and you will lose a small proportion,if the incubator is not sterilised you will lose an higher proportion at the next hatch and so forth.You can set an incubator up to take 2 eggs of something far more valuable,in conservation terms and you cannot afford the percentages that un-cleansed eggs offer,especially to the incubator.

The majority of lurcher breeders can at best be called naive and breed from healthy stock,dross hunting stock,much of the time perchance.The KC are instrumental in the stewardship of poor breeding practice,piss poor ethics and even more piss poor leadership.They are responsible for much of the suffering that their breed standards encourage.I fail to see how piss poor lurcher breeding from healthy yet poor hunting stock can be seen to be comparable with the kennel Club and its major show.For me only healthy mutts should be bred from and one mans piss poor lurcher is anothers salvation.

The main thing wrong with Crufts is its endorsed by the kennel Club,a club that as systematically caused more canine suffering,neglect and deformity of once healthy mutts in the chase for ribbons and dollar.It annoys me because the likes of the RSPCA and such ilk spend tens of thousands on chasing folk that look after their mutts and hunt and about 2 shillings on bringing the KC and Crufts to task.

It will be a while yet until the trees get their foliage so the squirrels will get the attention they deserve,then its productive to get the mutts along the waterways and exercise the mink when the water becomes shallow and warm enough to thrash about in,i like to take a spinning rod and a few lures to entice a trout or Pike to break up the days entertainment and the terriers are often utilised on ground that the shooters have finished with.

If running is on the agenda,with any real purpose,then the infusion of Bull is a wasted exercise, unless its diluted to an extent that makes the Bull a lesser ingredient to the recipe. It's all about adding the ingredients until you find the perfect recipe. You can season a stew with as much salt and pepper as you like and its still a stew.

Far too many people take working dogs too seriously. Apart from pest control, in certain situations, no-one these days needs a dog, or two or three or more, to provide food for the table. Everything now seems to be catch as much as you can, whatever the weather, ground conditions etc, to outdo everyone else. For me, to go out for a few hours watching a dog or two pushing a rabbit around a small wood for half an hour or so before catching it, is far more enjoyable than walking for miles at night with the lamp and catching 10,15 or so rabbits. The best retrieving mutt ive owned was a Red Fell,it was a drag taking her out.Ive witnessed smaller lurchers struggling to retrieve what a bigger lurcher hauls with far more ease.
