You bought it mucker, enter and educate it with all your honest intent and take it from there, ill nearly warrant it will suit as much as you may let it.good luck.

The collie cannot be the sire so you will just have to wait for the ugly duckling and swan syndrome to take effect.Did you source the pup in Haworth?,he sold a beagle that made 23" at 9 months and a Bedlington terrier that became a good sized lurcher.

There would be few deer left if 90% of lurchers could come to terms with the easiest of Bambi,if the tales on here are to be believed.Thankfully that leaves enough for my favoured meal, casseroled Fallow, thank feck for roadkill.

All poultry keepers around here are under legislation to keep all feather and fowl indoors because of the outbreak. As there are 10,s of millions of migratory birds entering our shores this season how does the legislation work to control the spread of it?Defra at its finest and a bunch of Defra officials that are educated above their own intelligence.

To Jump Or Not To Jump, That Is The ?
morton replied to Sirblessed's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
The only reason a dog is an hesitant jumper is because its been taught to be hesitant,a dog as to be trained to jump, then trained to jump at speed, without missing a step and without hesitance,a mutt that hesitates is a mutt awaiting another injury.A dog that seeks an easier option to jumping meets injury earlier than a reliable jumper and also watches quarry make an escape that a reliable jumper keeps in step with. -
I know of a mush who,s favourite shooting hide overlooked a cormorants drying post on the Aire and at least 60 miles from the coast, fecking flying rats.

Your Favorite Working Terrier Past Or Present..
morton replied to lonespade's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
My old retired Beddy bitch, ive owned better digging terriers, better earth terriers, yet she gave me more working options than any other terrier ive ever owned. The main thing with her is she was a producer and every terrier here now, apart from the Lakey,is directly bred down from her and all carry her work ethic and ethos. The best thing i can say about her is id swap little thats she,s produced for her. -
Ive owned both and will only own terriers now,a terrier is more versatile.

Hey up bud,Boots is far from right he has other issues currently now lol,I travelled almost 700 miles inc return trip this week with him only to find out when I'd got to the running ground he was unwell, could barely walk & trying to piss constantly with not a drop of piss forthcoming & that was how he was all day,so 48 hours with no kip,14 hours of driving for jack shit lol..Anyhow what will be will be I suppose? He only has a few weeks of his working life left as I've decided after many months of deep thought I'm calling it a day in regards to hunting when the season closes it's doors

nothing wrong with a deerhound greyhound bitch story to be fair looking for a bitch to breed out of pal. So you're not wanting to work it, just breed from it? What will happen to the bitch afterwards? Maybe, but there are plenty of fellows in the lurcher game who have used the dh/gh in lurcher lines for years taking all british game? why would it be that the yank lines where better than the uk? not exact what the yank laws are but not sure if they can even hunt deer with dogs anyway? and we don't have coyotes here if we did we would have dogs capable of killing them, same as ev

I looked at that thread cuz I had never seen it before. I can assure all of you there are plenty of culls being bred over here. I look at some of the shit people keep and I just shake my head. Lil snipey nosed weedy bitches being bred to skinny scrawny pencil necked shit eaters. Before anybody gets all crazy and goes to importing dogs please make sure you know who you are getting the dogs from. There are coyote dogs and then there are COYOTE DOGS! Can't see why any right minded person would import a coyote dog from the states when I'm more than certain the uk has a lot more capable mutts to

It is when you managed to down enough cider to float a very small dinghy and then thought you could master a bottle of Honey Jim Beam, geez i was ill until Tuesday.Lets put this to bed socks and let me offer you a genuine apology,i was going to send you a private pm but as my posts were not private i offer my heartfelt apologies to you on here and in a more sober light would not have sank to the levels i did.At times i may not agree with your posts socks but that is no excuse for the cheap way in which i treated your posts on this subject.Until the next infusion of skid and honey JB.

All nof them Again Socks what you seek is of lesser quality to what others seek, especially moi,if that offends just get something more fitting an higher purpose.

I once owned a Beddy bitch that did 6 seasons at the sharp end,its the only dog ive ever given a retirement home to.That bitch is the breeding behind any terrier ive worked since. The amount of ground that little slag covered and the the amount of fox the poodle shifted is beyond the capability of many a terrier bred or worked since, fact. The only reason my lad works terriers now is because of the influence of Tilly and any fecking Beddy with Tilly in its lineage is a good-un.Tilly would be ashamed to be represented by the Plummers or any terrier folk that suit your purpose.
-
As you may well know i am not,the sort of mutt that would sit comfortably in my kennel would have to be heavily influenced by a Deerhoundy, collie cur and capable of throwing its weight beyond its ambition.Id not feed a dog that could not raise its A game, fact. The mutts you own would need to skip a couple of levels to meet my wants, again i don,t wish to seek offence but realism and if that upsets i can only apologise mucker and thats well intended.
-
As he seen my mutts muller.
-
Again Socks i respect you on here but id not want anything bred from your Tilly,it would fail my ambitions. What you perceive to be A the dog of your choice id not feed. What i expect from an A stud is something others would expect from something less capable and the mutts that suit you id not tender. If that upsets you fair enough, thats not my intent and i apologise for my address.

As ive bred terriers that graft as terriers do and my lad possibly does far more terrierwork than the average joe, fact, fact, fact and fact,he only owns Beddy mongrels and a massive rough arsed Deerhoundy lurcher. The biggest gauge for anything ive bred, including kin,is the amount of dead vulpines in his and my mutts wake.I attempted to be gracious and it did not work,i don,t give a flying feck what you or others think or believe, the mutts do all my talking and my lad silences many a dumb critic, with the actions of OUR dogs.

An awful lot more, again socks im not having a dig yet some of us,as you probably know, want a lot more and thats no reflection on your or anybody elses choices, regards. I understand completely that different people want different things from different dogs ... but how can you say you want a lot more from a stud dog by just looking at one picture when you have no idea why the dog can do ... a picture is just that a picture it doesn't say what the dogs capable of ..... Its a Collie bred cur,i know what its capable of.Few folk want as much cur in the mix as me yet the A studs want an awful lo

Try it you may furnish another arrow for your bow,the people who frown on it because its not accepted by the more modern terrier soul raise a wry smile with me.Have faith in the mutts and know when 1 is not enough That wry smile you mention is nothing more than embarrassment mort .Id rather walk by 10 than find two dogs to ground .I do ok and better than some i know and why .....because i put the leg work in and have plenty of ground ,ground kept sweet by doing a good job .Your one fella where the working abilities of the beddy isnt safe ,one dog ,one quarry . I seem to have ruffled you
