    From your post youve seen alot of salukis work then ? i no your a saluki fan mate,and they have there use for sure,but as guard dog well thats a matter of opinion,fox dogs well ive seen a few that can do a good job but they were saluki crosses,stamina there really unequal,lurchers can definetely benefit from saluki blood,but not everyones a fan of them,for one reason or another The nastiest saluki guard dog ive ever seen was owned by Gordan on his pen at Silsden,that fecking thing tried to eat you,sadly he had a multitude of dogs nicked whilst that snarling beast was on guard.

    Saluki guard dogs ay ? Dunno about that but I'd say they may do a good job alerting the neighbours after the intruder flicks its nose and the dog howls like a falceto werewolf at 100000db!! You really havent got a clue about the breed have you?     The main reason for the Deerhound demise is the Quality of the Deerhounds at stud. let's see your deerhound stud dog or one you would use Its a xbred and ive yet to see anything pure bred live with its mongrel cousin that possibly better represents the hunting traits that Deerhounds were once renowned for.

    The biggest problem with Bedlingtons is the majority bush and ratch about on top,often on rodents,then refuse to enter and face something with a tad more clout.I don,t recognise such as Bedlingtons,most do.If it fails to enter its a piss poor terrier,even for a Bedlington.

    The lad i knew owned the 2nd best lamping dog ive ever witnessed,it was Collie/grey-Saluki/grey bred,the best lamping dog ive ever had the pleasure to see was bred the same way and owned by another.The first lad lamped with 3 different pures whilst i kept company with him and he knew how to enter and train a lamping jukel.His xbred mongrel lurcher could catch 3 times what his pures ever caught,they retrieved quicker,ran with better intent,worked things out 5 times faster and were easier to live with,he still preferred his pures?.

    It would be easy enough to dispense with a Saluki and a whippet,even though the Saluki offers much to the lurchers development,the greyhound as and always will be a massive influence on the lurcher,nothing can balance a lineage better than a Greyhound.

    Ive grown up with many of the recognised guarding dogs,Alsatians,dobermans,Rotty,s and even Russels,then the wife got her first Akita.For anybody interested since the Akita,s have resided here ive never locked a door or had another terrier or lurcher nicked.

    Pups are 5 weeks old on Tuesday mate,I've hardly had to feed them lol,I've not had to clean a shit up off them or nothing just put dry bedding in,Fenn is the best mother of pups I've ever seen,she has & still is superb with them repeat mating then.? Big gay boy Boots probably never mate anything again bud,he's had 4 bitches to him since he lined Fenn & covered none lol,I've a feeling this will be all he will ever produce but you never know I guess? people must think alot of him then and i think you wrote that he's been one of your best.have you thought about taking straws off him.?

    If i wanted a dog for bushing id have rescued something more suited to the task in hand.Its a good reflection on you mucker that you are willing to give a rescue dog another chance and i applaud you for that,yet a Ridgeback and bushing is certainly going to raise a few eyebrows and comments,good luck with the mutt,especially as a bushing companion.

    An hunting mucker of mine was Saluki kennel blind,he travelled the country back in the early ,s and owned more than his fair share of pures.He was a good man with a lurcher and owned,trained and hunted with many a good-un over the years.He put all he knew into his pures and never owned one that was half the dog of his mongrel bred lurchers.
