    There are that many Saluki hybrids being bred,most of which are advertised as being bred from Joe Bloggs x Fanny Smiths combinations,best of the best,why are they all advertised as being bred from the best about?,at some time or another at least one of them is going to come second,or is it?,thus the sites needed to advertise all these superior hounds cannot meet demand.Im tickled when they start at £700 a pup,a while later the same phone number and the pups are £350,not to long after they are £150,i pity the nuggets that get snared by the first advertisement.

    I used to run a piece of land that held a decent hare or 2,drystone walls,open woodland and a few reed beds,you could nearly walk to the spot that hares would be sat,we ran one time after time,if it failed to lose the dog amidst the trees it headed for the reeds,if they where still on its tail it headed for the open fields and tried to exhaust them,it then had an habit of taking them back into the wood or reeds,as the dogs got educated on each gallop they had the hare at their advantage,then it headed for the walls,through a gap in a corner,then back tracked on itself a few feet further down,t

    Nothing complicated about a bit of ratting,get a terrier out and about amidst the rodents and its instinct as an habit of kicking in,expect the mutt to mess about with the first few,then when the penny drops get out of the way.

    The Best bit irks my sensitive soul,running dogs seldom needed to be the best to fill the bag,all they needed to be was capable.There were a multitude of capable dogs,often pedigree unknown that had an habit of meeting the requirements of the owner,then the ego,s took over.As soon as you want or need a dog that's the best,then,either you will never be satisfied with what you have,or a scally scumbag will filch your prized hound.

    The gamest dog in the world is useless if it cannot get to,a working Bedlington as the same requirements as any other earth dog,they are no different,only the KC decided otherwise.If a dog is un-fit for purpose,through size or lack of working character,then it should never be bred from,ever.Bedlingtons are known to be a tad more up on the leg than some of the other breeds,that were also usually higher on the leg than they are bred now.They should still have the physicality to enter the domain of the fox,well most of the time?.

    The Working Bedlington Forum is not what it used to be,yet is still far better than anything else about.The WBF as an open forum,the others are more selective and clique orientated,join them all,peruse the sites and then decide.

    Why waste time and effort on something like that,seriously,source something more useful and better "hunting" bred,for hunting,some people try to re-invent the wheel at times and have an habit of making things harder than they need to be.

    Some people change and trade dogs with little thought or consideration for their future or wellbeing,they see them as little more than an accessory to their ego,these sorts are far removed from anything the genuine hunting fraternity wish to ever be associated with or have affinity with,the vast majority of mutts sold,dumped and traded have no hunting association whatsoever,a small minority have,again this small minority have owners that true hunting folk have no wish to be tarnished or be associated with.

    I travelled to the East coast of Scotland recently,for the first time,magnificent,id love to move there away from all this corrupt Parliament and the immigration issues here,schools fecked,hospitals fecked,Police shackled by legislation,lack of work etc.etc.etc.,in reality id rather take my chances with the naiveity of the Yes vote in Scotland than the shite here now.

    Terriers will not suit all,especially with their habit of dropping to ground,id never discount what they have to offer though.Id source a Cocker or Spaniel/terrier combo,even some of these have an habit of entering.

    A lot of people have lurchers to serve a specific purpose,to aid and assist them in their hunting activities and lifestyle.Some value them as a family pet and companion as well.I don,t have the same sentimental attachment to them now as i did 30 years ago,in that time ive had some stolen,lost some through injuries and retired some because of injury,plus let the odd un go because it failed to meet my requirements.I won,t keep a dog thats of little use to me,especially when that kennel space is to be utililised by a dog i can graft,thus at times sentiment as to be met by the realism that an hard

    Coming along nicely SK,proper Beddy,s bred for graft,how novel is that idea now?.For every 100 litters of Bedlingtons bred there will possibly be 1 litter out of them worth owning a dog from,the few diehards in the breed have a thankless task at times,especially when a forum set up to promote the working element of the breed cannot muster a member to take on a decent bred surplus good un.Onwards now with a full kennel SK.
