  1. I believe at the time the three of them had been drinking copious amounts,in such circumstances who is the most responsible adult?.He was found guilty and paid the price, after his release the board for the miscarriage of justice were allowed to make an early appeal, why is that?,anyhows if the findings are not overturned then I think he should still be allowed to earn a wage, the price of democracy,he will get some stick from the field, the terraces and will never be able to venture out without the probability of taking a kicking, guilty or not.Who,d employ a rapist?.
  2. I must be the only fella on here that's woken up next to a complete stranger, often a female one, after a night out, finding your clothes and attempting to make an embarearsed exit is not the domain of women alone.Do I think he was guilty?,NO,do I believe a convicted felon deserves another chance after he or she as done their time ?,depends on the circumstance, paedo,s,granny bashers and robbers, terrorists and rapists deserve zilch, yet even they should be made to work rather than be a burden on the state.
  3. Only hounds work like hounds, then they work along the lines that individual types and packs are bred for.Ive seen Plummers, with an hound ancestory, bushing and ratching about,in honesty they are as good as most out there. The Bedlington as hound ancestory and from what ive seen of them they hunt more houndlike, at times and depending on the individual terrier, than any other terrier type.
  4. Ive owned numerous bred terrier types and the majority of them bushed and ratched about to a decent standard, yet for me the Bedlington and the Hybrid types certainly have an edge on others ive owned or seen, they can cover the ground and obstacles quicker than most,i used to get fed up of waiting for some terriers that struggled over high walls,Beddy,s don't.They take to water well and are excellent working around waterways, their speed and agility is useful when ratting and around nets.Mine have an excellent voice, useful in cover when in pursuit and more useful below when working fox.Possibly e
  5. A dog should be fit before it ever enters a field, the fitter the dog becomes the more wind it will have and the quicker it will recover. Some dogs lack the stamina of others and no amount of exercise and conditioning will change that. Its also naïve to believe that a mutt needs Saluki in the mix to give enough stamina, many Saluki,s are renowned for their stamina and make a useful addition to some lurcher lines,as do Collie curs that are bred from working stock that can run up and down the fells all day, then there is the Bedlington that is also renowned for its stamina, the list goes on and on wit
  6. Ive seen a few Borders ratching about with distinction,if id not gone down the Beddy route id have one.
  7. Not to long ago a mucker put a litter to his Collie/Grew bitch, back to a Grey, the bitch was as honest as they come, the Grew was also worth its stud fee,he priced them at £150,less than Hancock,he sold one of 7 then dropped the price to £120,then £100,then culled them at 10 weeks because he could not home them, genuine pups with no name, the reality of Colie Curs and the nuggets they encourage.
  8. In reality some make a less than honest dollar from lurcher production and parting the less knowledgeable from their dollar, many of which make for decent enough hunting companions, the reality of life and real honesty is the fact that better Collie curs, that are free or cheaper, are available if wanted and often serve a better and more rewarding purpose.Hancock and his daughter are there to meet the requirements of the less resolute of hunters and their need to fill a kennel with a second rate cur, some of these second rate curs become first rate hunting companions, dependant on the owners hunting
  9. I used to be up to the mark with breeding programmes and birds,Waldrop Ibis,Mauritius Pink Pigeons,Palawan Peacock pheasants and Bali starlings, until I found my real forte, thats why im on my third wife.
  10. Lifes to short to be influenced by the reckless folly of greed and ambition,id be happy enough to source a smack-ed that thinks a Roger Coursey is worth more than a £5 spot.
  11. I do like the 2nd one,very atmospheric.
  12. They are easy enough to stock train, back to basics really, they take some effort to get them jumping with confidence, they have plenty of determination and drive. Its a case of taking them back to basic tuition, plenty of short sharp lessons.
  13. Ive tried a couple of times to enter ex track dogs to the field and hunting,in reality they may not be as mentally restricted as some Bull and Saluki hybrids, ive seen them muller a fox and screw an hare in fashionable style, yet I got fed up of throwing them over the shoulder when their severe lack of stamina found them out, especially when it was a few miles over fence, wall and Dale. They are a piss poor lurcher substitute.
  14. TP,im nearly in agreement with you, yet, the best bushing jukel ive ever owned,a Bedlington, did it on her own for at least 4 seasons, circumstances and her reluctance to let a dog service her dictated. She was a one dog bushing crew that managed to put more in front of the lurchers than anything else ive ever had the fortune to see,ive a full team now,the majority bred directly from her, finally, yet even as a team,as bushing should be,the old lass managed solo.Sometimes people do not have the luxury of a crew and still manage to shift things about with a solo artiste.
  15. Its often the case that a few healthy pockets of myxsi resistance are to be had amidst the plague, its possibly the cruellest disease known to man.
  16. I think people get a little hung up on Bunnys and what may best suit their destruction. In reality rabbits take little running and catching, ive known some real dross bred lurchers that accounted for bags full of bunny,s.Ill warrant there may be a multitude of sorts and types, breeding known and little cared for, that will have an habit of mullering big eared rodents with aplomb. Its to easy to get into the realms of fiction and fantasy seeking the ultimate bunny basher,in reality there are to many options available, that will suit all preferences,i still prefer an honest collie cur hybrid though.
  17. She,d really need to be game, fecking bunnys have an habit of putting the most resolute mutt into reverse,im not the most religious of catholics but Jesus?
  18. I cannot envisage how a dog could break its leg running plough, its a bit of undulating yet fairly even land,a few knocks, strains and the odd sprain, yet a breakage?.Saying that I knew a good bitch that wrecked an ankle joint on even ground, she never ran again.
  19. All these problems associated with bushing terriers, ears, eyes etc..ive either been fortunate or not tested them enough because ive never encountered it worth mentioning,i bush some of the harshest and more difficult terrain and undergrowth, ive seen damage on Spaniels, usually because of their bulk, that the terriers never have issue with, less bulk to crash about with.Ive used a multitude of terrier types and they all served well,my Beddy,s and their hybrids have the edge and I can say with a little honesty that the only issue, apart from the usual scratches and scrapes,as been an infected toe or
  20. I won,t take a dog hunting until it can follow me wherever I go,over walls, fences, gates etc. When the dog is competent at navigating any of the said obstacles ill then do the same training process in the dark, until its competent, then the hunting training starts.I would,nt want a dog jumping walls when chasing in the lamp,i would discourage a dog from doing so.
  21. If its going to be poor for lamping ill just go daytime. How old the dog is plays a major role in determining if the conditions are ideal,a sapling ill attempt to make sure the conditions best suit the dogs ability,an educated mutt ill take out when I have the time, when I have the time is rarely ideal so we sometimes have to take what we have.
  22. I used to frequent the A1 area to get a regular gallop or two,one thing about running the dogs around that area, especially on plough, was the dogs were tested more than any other land ive visited.Walking the plough added an extra pair of loam boots to you and 4 to the mutt.
  23. An earth dog, even one that some owners have found to be unsuitable, will still go to ground.A terrier that bushes and ratches about with the added bonus of working below,is far more useful than one worked from a leash, they seldom suit all and at some stage you will lose one, guaranteed, yet a bushing terrier is more than a match for anything else out there, its even better, especially in really tight spots were a bigger busher cannot navigate at speed,a fox below is beyond the scope of non-terriers,why have 2 dogs to do a task when one will suffice?.
