  1. Seen 2 yesterday eve while waiting at a pond for ducks, they both came from a nearby birch wood and both at almost the same time.
  2. Go on Neil buy 2 of them, you know you want to.
  3. Does Bluck keep whippets, sounds exactly like his kind of advertisment, lol.
  4. Cant really say which as the dog i had was well down the line in there breeding programme.I actually got mine through a friend after all my own dogs were stolen. The dog in question was 4-5 year old when i had him and a joy to work. The chap that i got him through had a few of these type, like pees in a pod, long backs, big heads and rough coats and twisated front legs, ugly b*****ds but good workers. They were kept between 3 men i think and very few outside the circle got there hands on them.I would say that both types were of good quality as these lads were not into breeding dirt, couple of lads of
  5. Is there such a dog as a working parson, any ive seen were all for the show ring.
  6. Some very good sealyhamxrussells bred down south in Cork by a couple of men who have stuck with the white bodied terriers down through the years.I had the privlidge of having 1 of them for a season and he was as good a dog as i have ever seen.He had an exceptional nose on him and he was a 1 hole dog, noting got past him, took a lot of stick but gave a lot aswell, destroyed fox's with ease and a lovely dog to have around the house, sadly the dog was taken away under false pretences and never returned but thats another story.Seen the Cork lads up at a show in the midlands last year and they had some
  7. I think where the problem lies is people that use there terriers regardless of breed for bushing, ratting and diging the odd fox then breeding and advertising pups as earth dogs or working bred pups and not stating that 90% of the work they do is above ground. There is nothing wrong with keeping these type of terriers if that is what a person is into and if they get sport out of doing so fair play every man to his own but when selling pups should be truthfull as to the actual work the dogs are doing. Most people selling pups will tell the buyer exactly what he or she wants to hear, and most inexpe
  8. I use SYNULUX and find them very good,a good wash with salt n water and cleaned with Betidine, then a course of Synulux morning and night for around 3 days does the job.I find the oral solutions easier to administer than the jabbing as i have 1 terrier in particular that is not easy to jab.
  9. That actually looks like a fox trotting up the road towards the hounds, lol.
  10. I would say a terrier with heart and staying ability would have been order of the day, did'nt really matter how they looked
  11. Is that of the good roche breeding from the midlands. Some serious stuff been produced from his yard. All the best with the puphe has some serious stuff that man the father of the pup is some dog Would that be a dog called [sOLDIER] or [bLITZ]
  12. Nice, what ways that pup bred 666?It was bred by a lad from athlone off his own stuff Nice pup,was it bred by WR by any chance?
  13. Its start of the season, strange things happen, and no one can say what goes on under ground.Did you actually break through to the dog on 1st day out, maybe he killed and came away from his kill or did you try a young dog on that day. This time of year quarry is still on the small side and can fly through tubes, dont be too quick to right of the dog after all he had done 3 seasons without fault so give him the benifit of the doubt and wait a bit try him again, jmho.
  14. Hope they work out for you Liam, are they of the black dog.
  15. The true test for a terrier is when it enters an earth regardless of debth or what quarry lies in wait below and if not bolted stayes until dug to regardless of how long it takes to get there, let it be an hour or a day or what punishment it takes in the prosess, but if person is happy to do a bit of rabbiting or ratting with there dogs then so be it thats there choice.
  16. Heard it all now fat lad,so if you don't dig with your dog you not up to spending a few hours in the cold or rain, never heard so much shite.i work my dogs all year round fat lad but more so in the winter months, have a lot of permission on the alston moors, also a lot on the borders, were it gets extremely cold and wet most of the time. What is it with you lot having a pop at folk for working there dogs on rat or rabbit, when both are fantastic sport. ive done my fare share of digging in the past but there's nothing that betters rat hunting as specially when in number and believe me your dogs graft
  17. Last time i seen a pair of legs like that they were hanging out of a birds nest, lol, nice dog good luck with him.
  18. What sort of weight was it,bet your son was pleased, was up that end a few weeks back brought the rod with great intensions but never took it out of the car, drank for the week, lol.
  19. I think it all goes back to the same old argument, the standard of terrier that the individual keeps. Some lads like a terrier for bushing or ratting, not my cup of tea but im not the 1 thats got to feed them, where as the same lads would not like to be out on a dig for a few hours in the rain and cold, everyone has there own standards.
  20. Corkyjohn, maybe reason you dont see marked up borders on here is the people that have them have more cop than to put up pics of marked up terriers. Why lads feel the need to do so is beyond me,if your dog is working well and does the buisness there,s no need to let the whole world know, just more ammo for the anti,s.
  21. Kennels are a nice set up but would not be keen on having 3-4 terriers in together like your russells.
  22. I think any man r woman who chains a dog, should use common sence and not leave enough chain for the dog to do harm,a few ft is plenty providing the dog is geting plenty of exercise.
  23. With a name like fox-assasion i would imagine you already know the ins and outs of diging, but maybe not,if the dog wants it he will go himself,if not you cant train him.
  24. pond still there but chap that owns it increased it in size for his duck shooting and the cover from around the outside is all gone now, just an island in the centre for the ducks now.
  25. You were just being greedy Neil, lol do you remember the day many years ago when yourself, your da and myself were out and Todd was running lose and put a rabbit out and ran it to ground as we thought as dog was to ground in a small earth when we found him.Your Da and me said we would dig the dog out and you decided that you were having no part in diging out a rabbit so of you went to check another earth just down the hedge. We dug Todd out and were just about finished as you arrived back and with a big smerk asked did we get the rabbit but the look on your face was priceless when you seen Todd r
