That's what I'm driving at Seeker, If the mines were privatised and had to survive on their own, could they? Cut all the hangers on out ( like the unions), and take it back to basic business, get the miners working for an organisation aimed at profit, not just jobs for jobs sake.. There would've been casualties but maybe as a business ran in the right way it could've survived? What do miners think? Bob... ?

But... Was the coal industry sustainable? An asset? Would privatisation been beneficial?, perhaps a different stand from the unions would've preserved jobs, the miners were the pawns in game, used... Who were the real villians of the piece?

I think I've said before I wrote to him when I was at school, asking him how to go into work with animals in some way, he took the time to hand write a reply back to me, which I think is the mark of the man. An absolute one off, top man..... and definitely irreplaceable

Typical kid Ry, happy when he's doing what he wants As far as the comp, it would of been ok if it wasn't for those bloody bream, Arch had told us, it'll be a roach match, slim chance of a big fish, river wasn't in great knick either... I'm plodding along ( with a banging head ).. picking up a roach here and there, I thought a couple of pound should be ok.... boom... Mick and Owain catch a couple of slabs... my couple of pound of roach look like shit now... It wouldve been a respectable 2nd without the bream... mind you the grin on Owains face was priceless, turned up no gear, wins -

But thats just it, I'm not going to go on and on about where Im from but I grew up on a council estate in a family that was poor and I was force fed all that sh*t for years growing up. My father went out on strike due to the Unions and (admittedly not for a year like the miners) we had no food for weeks and weeks. The street where we lived brought round cans of food to help feed us kids whilst my mom and dad lived on bread and jam. The difference is it taught me a lesson, I learnt to think for myself and not listen to the crap from everyone else about how I should view the world. I lear

Agree on the property Gnash, 20k aint enough IMO, you'll wait forever to see a decent return, much riskier now than 20 years ago. Lapin Those vans make good money, all cash too!! A couple across the road do a veterinarian one, drag it around to all the festivals and make a fair few quid. Always good mark up in food and drink, the old man had a pub years ago and made the most money doing a bit of food, the mark ups are huge.

Coffee..... It's more expensive than gold, diamonds, coke......... Open a coffee shop and watch the money roll in..... £4.00 for some hot water and milk, with a tiny shot of coffee... the mark ups got to be 500% at least... As Malt said......a couple of wins/losses will see mid table turn to bottom in no time......dont look at position look at points . It was a side swipe at Moyes to be honest mate, mad season this one from bottom to top, good for the league though... Hammers will be ok, but that means you'll have to endure the boring one for another season at least....
