did`nt know it was a local thing till it was on about pubs in nottingham and derby .... Interesting bit about the flooding, and man made waterways for wading birds.... We're on a limb at the best of times down here... Good I say normally.... But No rail service, buses are... Well shit lol... Has just about left some people marooned....Somerset has been under water for months ( my brothers best mate, a marine, has had to move in with him for certain nights as he can't get in and out if his village in Somerset, only access is a boat), As people have said building on flood plains together with no dredging for 20 odd years is an accident waiting to happen, there was a warning a couple of years back, did the powers that be act... No worries Pete, I gave a fair bit to a farmer a while back... Problem for us is it's all cut to order.. I get t back the yard but half the time that's where it stays, as no 2 roofs are exactly the same... They can be cut to suit though. A mates done well out of it, his kennels are fully insulated and look the bee knees lol..

Good points mate.... I agree on the school kids teach in as well.. On another note, from a safari trip years ago, I was shocked how hard giraffes were to spot... Put near a couple of trees and they disappear lol

Not quite that simple though is it?You can't just tell it not to breed... They live in social groups. Castration was not an option, nor was keeping it on its lonesome... Why is castration not an option?..... ( serious question as I've no idea) Wasn't it moved from another zoo to Copenhagen, is the gene pool that tight across all zoos? I understand culling for the good of genetics, close breeding etc, but a giraffe, surely there was somewhere it could if went, and not been with its uncles and aunts etc

I think the reason to kill it was strange, it was weakening the genetic gene pool ( or something like that).... Don't breed off it then... I'm sure there's more to it than that, just seems a bit of a waste of a healthy 2 year old animal... Edited to say I posted before I read other posts....

We had the cd in the car when we went over to guernsey last summer, my two little ones like him as well as my eldest girl... It a really good album IMO Some of the new songs off of his next album sounded really good, I think he's going to be quit a prolific song writer... Tom O'toole lol

Last month saw me and the missus taking our 15 year old daughter and her mate up to the Brixton academy to watch one of her favourite band, the 1975, was a decent enough gig but the 7 hr round trip was a killer lol Well last night we took her to Plymouth to watch Tom Odell, f**k me is that man talented.. I've watched a lot of bands over the years, a few big acts amongst them but I'd say he's one if the most talented people I've watched... Brilliant gig.... For those who like live music on here I'd advise having a look whilst he's on tour...
