    Rabbits

Ok, so the freezers are full already, and i need to empty them in order to keep ferreting. Usually they go for £1.50, gutted, with skins on, to a catfood company. They cant take this lots at the moment, so i was wondering if anyone had any ideas on where i could sell them at a similar price. Not for human consumption though. Few hundred of them. Any ideas???????
  2. Cattle sheep pigs chickens even pheasants. What would you say to someone who took you on there land and your dog went and killed a sheep ? Or flushed all the pheasants out of a wood on shooting land ? If my dog flushed all the pheasents out the wood, and DIDENT catch one.............. well, i would not be a happy chappy......... one of the main things a lurcher should do IMO is catch fur AND feather. Agree but your dog should know when its acceptable and when its not. If im on shooting land ferreting and the keeper come to see how im getting on and my dog catches a bird infront o
  3. Once all of the previously mentioned stuff is done. In my opinion i'd try something like this - First things first, you need to get it spotting on the lamp, walk up some bunnys, even if its not going to be a run, get the dog into the idea that the spot, lights up stuff he wants to see. Then find the perfect bunny, sat out on a good windy, drizzly night, away from home, ideally in a well fenced field. Walk up on it, get between it and home, hold the spot on it, pull the dogs head up if you have to, hiss, whatever it takes to get the dog fixed on the rabbit, walk up as close as you
  4. Aye, imagine getting some decent land that wants the rabbits cleared and you have to say, well give me a few weeks or maybe a month or so . . . . . as i have to find some ferets first! You need to have some kind of clue how to do the service you are trying to offer!

  6. Its a c**ts trick and they deserve their fingers stamped into the ground. I get out on a good number of folks prime land, doing them a favour getting rid of certain species, and would never go back without permission from them and wont take species that are off limits.
  7. Brilliant mate, any chance of seeing her fly sometime? never done much hawking and would absolutly love to!
  8. Worse thing i seen on them, is the plastic snapping, where the leather collar feeds through the head.
  9. Nice one lads, and nice photos! You up for another visit soon?

Good luck with today, you will be fine. Always nerve racking on the first drive you seem almost at the end without seeing a bird then all of a sudden they go and your arse stops twitching.

  12. That sounds like truly brilliant day mate, glad you and the kids enjoyed it
  13. Ive caught rabbits all over the country for the last few seasons, taking rabbits from spots as much as 500 miles apart, or more, and in different parts of the country, the rabbits are different, with different sizes, and even slight different builds, and colours.
  14. Bunch of pussies! I love the snow, never found that they dont bolt, and it keeps every other fecker inside, and i can f**k off work, and go ferreting 7 days a week. I just love going out when all the trees are covered white in frost.
  15. Food. Lots of big ones in one area = very good food supply in that area? How much fat did they have on them when you pulled the guts out?
  16. http://www.honeybrookfarm.com/home.htm You could try these folk?
  17. You get your bird mate? There is a supplier but cant remember the name!
  18. Aye thats Tegater and his two lads!
  19. What are you trying to say? The pigdogs are nothing at all like the running dogs, the running dogs we use are very similar to what you have over there but we need dogs with better feet and better heat tolerance. People use Dane X mastiffs and such for their endurance, heat tolerance and holding power. A fair few pig hunters over here do it for a living and I have to say I don't see many running dogs having the holding power and nose to consistently find big pigs off the ute (with their nose) and hold them for the usual long period it takes for the hunter to get to the pig and dispatch it. The
  20. Bad luck mate, but not every one is a c**t! We've taken soe good lads out.
