    Some gypsy lads i used to knock about with used to keep alsatian crosses for the foxes round our way. big dogs they were and they struggled in the orchards to be honest. There were munties and roe in the woods but they were that thick (chestnut coppicing) that the smaller dogs tended to do better on them. Nice natured beasts mind.

    I always used to wear loakes for work and Alfred Sergeants out of work but the last pair of loakes i had the leather split by the little toe. moved on to RM Williams now.

    As Bosun says....it's all there in the mag. You don't get much more transparent when it comes to hunting and his dogs than Mr. Harcombe. The man has put his neck on the line for god knows how many years now. I can only speak for myself but the bloke is a proper gentleman and one of the most erudite and educated people I have ever met. He is a very talented writer and we are very lucky to have a bloke with the combination of those skills who has fought our corner for decades. EARTH DOG RUNNING DOG is an institution and in the future it may be copied but it will never be bettered
