  5. Seen a fair few staff blooded russells over the years as the local lads used to use them a bit. Some were absolute car crashes to look at, like teckels with ford fiesta heads
  6. Couldn't afford the flights Charts....times are tough mate
  7. Today is Jasper’s third birthday and it well and truly marks the end of the season for us. If the truth be known, the season finished a few weeks back, but a recent cold snap (temperatures have been as low as 19 degrees) has seen me back out for a few last runs in the forest. The freezer is physically incapable of taking any more meat, much to my wife’s consternation when she’s trying to find space for our daughter’s food that she makes up in batches. It won’t see us through the summer, but it’ll go some way in helping us make it through to the cool weather again. I’ll be out on the deer with

  14. Gentlemen, you may want to consider private messaging
  15. My godfather used to run a small russell through buries for rabbits in the late sixties/early seventies. Not sure it was such a fantastical idea back then.
  16. Meg on the left, genuine half cross Wheaten - Greyhound, bred in the purple.
  17. No dictionary swallowed lol what i mean is that people who say russells (or white dogs) work in a certain way are often generalising and stereotyping a breed or type. i know of a white dog from lines of white dogs not far from you marshman, that works like a total headcase and is nothing like the stereotyped russell. that's what i mean. people who say bull terriers are the 'gladiator' dog and who think patts are mini pits.....look closer than the stereotype...look at the lines and families because black and white and every shade in between has probably been crossed at one point or another
  18. There are too many variables to take into consideration – too many shades of grey, to issue definitive statements regarding types or breeds, or whatever you want to call them. A generalisation is only ever going to be exactly that…the mean, the average, an approximation. Something issued for people who have but a passing interest, often by people who have little working knowledge of the “type.” Or alternatively, by those who seek to entice. Show me the small print; the workings behind the glossy façade; the text behind the headlines and that’s where the truth invariably lies. Families within l
