  1. Reminds me of this...
  2. ... the f**k! "Quick get out of my way, I NEED TO LEAVE! MOVE!!!" ?
  3. I don't think it's easy to tell until you have worked closely with both. In terms of temperament, Cockers are soft as shit, they are very endearing little dogs away from the field, often wanting to be in contact with you. This can make them a bit sensitive to heavy handed handling though, they benefit from a handler that likes to bond with their dogs. Springers tend to have a 'hardier' nature, they are the dog for a handler that wants a simple working spaniel exclusively to do the job. From a working perspective each breed in the hands of a suitable owner are probably on par with each oth
  4. "But tax evasion is bad so this is good. Only greedy immoral tax evaders need worry." Be a piece of piss in the UK, I often get confused looks when handing over cash for payment.
  5. Oh of course yeah. I was just interested by the 'white' outdoorsman viewpoint that Joe and Cam were understandably focussed on.
  6. "Part of the ongoing problem, the researchers write, is the word “trophy,” a sanitized expression..." 'Sanitized'... LOL. It's like they live in a different world to me. The term is anything but clean, its f***ing filthy with negative stereotyping and baggage! No surprise there though, the 'researchers' are in fact activists. They're not persuing knowledge and truth, they are pursuing an ideological agenda. There's nothing wrong with being an activist of course but I dont like it when the two are intentionally confused to try to give greater credibility to the activists agenda.
  7. Absolutely not. ? I'm not sure how I managed that. Edited it to start from the beginning hopefully.
  8. Thought some might find this interesting.
  9. Two lefties, one that values democratic freedom and one that is blatantly a f***ing tyrant! LOL. Pretty much the acid test for which type of lefty I can get on with.
  10. That's so 'American west'! A bounty on f***ing scalps LOL The millenials over here would have a f***ing breakdown if the council did that. My god, the pleasure that thought brings me. LOL
  11. Talking about dangerous wild animals...
  12. I received 'The Jim Corbett Omnibus' yesterday. Got that tale in it.
  13. Yeah I meant both yours and pollypockets dogs mate.
  14. Two smart little lurchers. Thanks for posting.
  15. Without a shadow of doubt the HMR. The only caveat would be if you felt a semi auto platform would be particularly advantageous.
  16. Was it? Looks pretty real to me and if you google 'Todd Orr bear attack hoax' there's no sign of 'proof' or even speculation.
  17. If Cape Buff is "Black Death", those fellas are unseen death. Cool and lethal beasts no doubt.
  18. I don't really get the point in sticking stuff like this up on social media. Most folk feel more empathy for Simba than the old boy getting chomped. Working with dangerous livestock is, well, dangerous and no one cares for what really happened.
  19. Pretty much my definition of a free society.
  20. I'll tell ya working in an office 5 days a week is f***ing hard work when you just want to be out doors everyday.
  21. Take away alcohol and suddenly everyone is on the Liberty train! That's British as f**k that. "You can have our rights, our money, our guns and our lives. But we draw the line at our alcohol!".
  22. There are lots of different standards. Same with any type of work. Not many folks will outright say their dog is a failure, but a honest handler will tell you the dogs failings. It really depends on what a typical handler for that breed/type wants from their dog doesn't it, or for that matter what really they'll accept. There are shit loads of gundog owners that wouldn't stand a chance in a trial, me included. Dare say the same applies to herding dogs and security dogs etc etc. For instance. If a lab doesn't retrieve most would consider that a total failure. But then again if that dog is
  23. I've just knocked a couple of these up myself yesterday. Didn't take any pictures. Very similar design only I constricted the entrance a bit by shaping the wire and blocked off one end. I made it into a raft by screwing 18" length logs at either end then hoyed them into the bulrushes. Just read that ducks won't take nesting material in themselves so I'll have to nip down and stuff them with more straw. I'm quite keen to get a dozen put in if they are going to be worth while. these couple are just experimental. Anybody else had experience with these?
  24. Anybody used SITKA or KUIU? $230 (USD) for a genuine Gore-Tex hunting jacket! That's less than £170. Even $300 (£220) is good compared to similar products in the UK. Next time I'm in the US I'm making an effort to find a decent stockist and bring a load of stuff back. It's probably cheap enough to import even. I hope the sizing is sensible.
