  1. Seth Simpson from Idaho is a real old-country western outdoorsman type. Does a lot with various dogs etc. He has a bitch coyote as well but recently dug out a coyote den and got himself this little dog pup. At about the same time some hunters shot a badger that they thought was carrying something it had just killed but turned out to be a cub, that they gave to Seth. He's hand rearing them both as pets! Anyway, thought a few might be interested to see. I think the badger is great!
  2. It looks more than 50 yards therefore I'd almost certainly have drowned! lol I had a strong urge to kayak or whatever over to it mind. No idea at the time the crack with it, whether it was inhabited, private or whatever.
  3. Yep Ailsa Craig. Took twenty mins for a coffee and dry kit out at a small cafe near there. Looks weird as f**k in the mist. Just a cunting great steep rock miles out! LOL. I remember seeing it and saying out loud with a quizzical tone "What.... the.... fuuuuck................... is... is that a f***ing island?"
  4. First lot of pics Glencoe yeah. Absolutely stunning. Been through before but took a bit of time to take it in this time. Next time I want to hit the mountains and wake up to a sunrise high on the tops. Nah, don't fish myself. Used to in my teens. More interested in deer these days. LOL
  5. Down in Galloway here. Cracking little spot. Thought I’d found the f***ing iron islands in that first pic.
  6. If ya don;t mind, I'll add a few from my trip up north of the wall a few weeks back mate?
  7. IMO this is now a lie that has been sold to the youth. It'll take a generation to end because it is pushed by a generation who grew up in a time when going to Uni genuinely was an exceptional thing. Since the turn of the century and the rise in equality and social democratic views this thing that was once exceptional is now available to just about everyone and it's really devalued it while at the same time laden folks who really wont benefit from it with tens of thousands of pounds of debt. Simultaneously though there are now more schemes for vocational training and non conventional train
  8. A day in the life of the Gestapo.
  9. If I was to speculate on what happened I'd say that Russian units were involved in a clandestine (sometimes not so clandestine) way and due to that had a degree of autonomy not typical in conventional war. Coupled with a lack of discipline they are quite possibly responsible for this but through negligence, not intention. Whether the case or not the Putin administration would of course deny any involvement or responsibility.
  10. June 2056: "IndyRef11 - This time we can do it! More free shit for everyone!"
  11. Only two places come to mind, South island New Zealand. For the freedom, unspoilt country and wild basic lifestyle. Same acreage as the UK and barely more than 5% the population! The public lands and hunting rights are amazing. Tahr hunting in the southern alps (fjiordland) is my dream hunt. Chamois in the foothills. Stags in the bush. Pig hunting with dogs. Duck flighting etc etc. Just looks such an amazing place and is so often on my mind. Literally thinking about the place half hour ago in the gym. Other place would be Idaho/Wyoming US. Same reasons. Utterly breathtaking country.
  12. Didn't you fancy saving that one until Friday night, Wilf?
  13. Sneaky German fuckers probably had 'cheat devices' to avoid failing emissions tests. Bet that's how it all started for the VW scandal!
  14. Giving one of these Kuiu Guide Jackets a spin. https://www.kuiu.com/global/hunting-jackets-vests/guide-dcs-jacket/50011.html?cgid=jackets-and-vests&dwvar_50011_color=Black%2FPhantom#start=1 Bit of bollock ache having to pay shipping and tax but if I like the stuff I'll be buying more over there and avoid all that. Apparently an 'athletic fit', which is brilliant news to my ears because most UK or even Scandi' stuff is made for giant fat b*****ds. Their ordering process seems to deal with customs/taxes/currency for you too.
  15. Your senses would need to be on high alert, from what little I have seen as soon as you kill a bear all the other bears come to eat it!
  16. What a hunt that'd have been eh! I think I'd have made an effort to get the beast into a more photogenic position mind, lol.
  17. I'm not surprised you feel that way with the government's history of commissioning scientific studies on a subject to then ignore the findings or fire the author if the conclusion doesn't support their already decided on policy! I hate how politics is conflated with science.
  18. You don't need to impress me! LOL
  19. I honestly have no vested interest. I make it quite clear that I am only too happy to find another employer/career. I've got to a good section in that book I started reading(.....a year ago, lol). About the scientific revolution and how capitalism (and empire) has been and is the main driver behind technological progress. I really do love the book.
  20. That's just pmrc selection though, and first half is intentionally paced for 12.5mins with second half needing to be done in 10.5mins. I don't know but id say finishing training after completing the commando course the standard would be higher. I agree though 5k in 25min is a reasonable standard to work to for an average fit lad. Not a dedicated runner perhaps.
  21. Can we have less of that talk on this thread please, I work in research in that outdated energy industry! You'll put me out of work.
