  1. Please do that, be real interesting to see how a larger sighthound (stag) effects the stamp of the pups. But like Bird said, and I think you mentioned this before on this forum, you guys want a dog to give voice whereas over her in this type of dog it'd be seen as a fault. I could forgive the odd yap but not like a terrier does yapping constantly when chasing, lol. But to be honest I see this cross as more than just a running dog and would be judged by more than simply it's catch rate on the lamp for me.
  2. Too much dog for me. I couldn't manage such a beast.
  3. Don't need 'critical' hardness in this cross, just enough. I simply meant that my terrier isnt hard enough for me to be really happy breeding her despite her other excellent traits. And that level of hardness I would consider critical in the terrier side of the 1st cross. If that explains it better. I think bull would be the wrong move for me personally. I think a good terrier has more to offer me in a lurcher.
  4. You might be surpised, that bitch of mine would. I ruined her retrieving really but she'd retrieve duck from water, cock pheasant, even just a couple weeks ago came bumbling out of a hedge with a live rabbit for me. Before I ruined her it would all be live to hand, and still usually is, just more temperamental now. Shocked many a Gun bless her. She just lacks a really critical level of hardness for me to be worthy breeding from. Useful as f**k for me past 8 years mind. But that doesn't make a dog worth breeding off imo.

Not a f***ing chance Sergei, not a chance! One astute boat would put the entire Russian navy back to port or the bottom of the Med and those air superiority typhoons based there would be a fair match for anything the syrians have and most of what the russian air force has. Pound to a pinch of piss there is constant AWACs patrol for that early warning and a type 45 ready to respond to that threat detection. Didnt the syrians give it a test run once a while back and hightailed it when typhoons were scrambled? Just a test for the Russians of course, not serious I'm sure. I reckon
  6. Likewise mate. Cracking beating dog for hedges, just works it lovely and business like with no great fuss, and the the odd gun loves the opportunity of a quick bolt between drives. I'm probably always going to have a spaniel or two about now and can't shake the feeling this lurcher/whirrier would really round out my dog needs.

Im far from an expert, just have a slightly different take on this than other. My understanding is there are about three or four basic groups. Isis, the rebels, the democratic opposition and the Kurds. Yeah mostly Muslim as expected. None of them I'd care for. At this point I think it'd be a huge mistake to do anything to effect the outcome of this civil war. Regime change requires a generation long effort. The West doesn't have the political stamina for that and so it would fail in at least some way imo as we've seen too often.
  8. I know mate, I've had a very useful little bitch used for all sorts. I suppose that's largely why Im interested in one to a sighthound. It'd do all the terrier would, minus earth work (hopefully ) but have the legs to catch.

I think the truth is plain to see and they won't deny it but this is politics and shit needs padding out to make it sound better. Everyone cares about the innocent getting raped, enslaved and murdered, but it'll not get a politician to deploy 100k troops. A threat to your economy or imports will though. As an aside I would have liked to have seen those boko haram animals that kidnapped those school girls wiped from existence but just no money in it. Mind that was a different administration... this one could easy send a few thousand marines just for the glory!

I know my opinion is pretty unpopular but it is what it is I suppose. Regarding the above, there's no denying it. Simple answer is that there's nowhere in Africa of significant strategic value. Putting aside theories of interventions contrived for financial gain, the middle East has been of value for at least 100 years and will continue to be for at least another 30 if not 50+. To much trade is threatened by instability in that region. Too much oil comes from there and the black stuff fuels countries and economies! In addition to that there is this whole issue of chemical weapons. As depr
  11. Anything between probably 18-21”. Fairly small then. Plenty of terrier blood to give a hard nature, good rough coat and that terrier like nature which I personally find quite biddable. A dog for ratting, doing squirrel dreys, rough shooting, ferreting, bit of lamping, ideal to have knocking about with me on the shoot or for flushing a fox and complement spaniels well. Maybe if raised to be steady and biddable enough be a handy stalking dog. Importantly not a big animal and not a lot of sighthound blood. Lots of scope for a dog bred the way I’m thinking, terriers are such versatile dogs if give
  12. That’d be an interesting way to go, collie terrier base. But I’m really set on just terrier. Had a collie grey Wheaton grey before and frankly there wasn’t much I liked about her! LOL I think a rough coated whirrier from very good fell blood is my best bet. And even 3/4 sighthound would be too much for my taste as well. Better to a grey but hardly even heard one bred that way never mind find one.
  13. It is isnt it, frankly I think they all look nice animals, a bit like small Wheaton greys. I think I'll just have to keep an eye out. Unfortunately I think this cross is usually accidental. I deffinately would want a lot of terrier blood though, I wouldn't want anything too sighthoundy, though i can see the advantage of it.

I don't know mate but I'm doubtful that it'll amount to much. The US can project force on a scale no one can compete with and have now just shown a willingness to do that. UK and French contributions were really symbolic but even our lone ability to project force would make the Russians stop and think about escalation. The 'allies' said that a strike would happen and the russians said they'd shoot down any missiles and even strike the launch sites. So far who has followed through with what they promised? They know they are outgunned right up to the strategic nuclear attack level and all t

Bit surprised to see that our contribution used Tornadoes. I thought that would have been too risky. Obviously not. The Syrians did f**k all and the Russians had mostly got the f**k out of there before hand. So long as this DOES NOT become regime change then I'll support it. The Wests history of conquest and overthrowing dictators has been a shit one of failure, when it's kept just to intervention (excluding regime change) and punishment then that history looks a lot better.
  16. Probably depend on the specifics. Why did they do it, where, how did they respond, what was the background etc etc.

That's the worse part about it, every time. You can't make a load of noise and then wither away. No matter what our leaders decide to do, right or wrong, follow f***ing through! This shit wins no respect and invites being taken advantage of. The US is supposed to be going to the negotiating table with the DPRK soon, like they haven't been watching this! Should've said f**k all provocative or just picked a symbolic military target and flattened the f**k out of it immediately with a note "Behave! Last warning".
  18. Looks a surprisingly racey build. I suppose with fell terriers being so varied there is the potential for that as well as more boxy types. For someone with a whippet or grew bitch the choice of different terriers, build coat etc, of excellent breeding and field tested in this country is overwhelming. Finding a decent stud for the base blood would be easy. Makes it all the more puzzling. Cheers
  19. I was going to put Patterdale but I felt Fell was a bit more general. But aye, my thoughts exactly. Indeed, gritty and robust are the first words that come to mind! Not specialists at anything, just a type that would be keen for anything, take up little space and be well suited to vermin and rough woods and hedgerow country. Another I found and I think Dan.M's Jagd type. Again from Google.
  20. All they knew of. That doesn't stop them making more either which there is intelligence to suggest I believe. Also, massive assumption that we re-supplied the Syrian government. I think the Russians and Assad might be shouting that out loud to the world if there was anything in it. Though that is all fair enough I think it's being a bit selective. These Arab rebellions were going to happen no matter what, despite what all the non interventionists think. The civil war in Syria wasn't caused by our f**k up in Iraq and the growth of ISIS, though of course that hasn't helped shit all.
  21. This thread has been done before I think so I apologise. I've been wondering about this cross for various reasons I'll not waste too much time on. Done a bit of searching and found what doesn't surprise me to be some well made little lurchers. Selection I found below (you'll have to forgive me if any of these pictures are yours, please claim the photo-credit). An American (Dan I think?) off here has a cracking looking jagd whippet too. Seems to be the odd litter bred, question is are these odd matings intentional working bred stuff or just agility and flyball types? Boggles me a bit
  22. There's been a published investigation by the UN (agreed to by ALL security council members) and the OPCW concluding that Assad as well as rebel and jihadi groups have used chemical weapons in the civil war, after the Syrian government allegedly got rid of them all. Obviously the investigation into who was responsible for this most recent attack is yet to be concluded and likely won't be for some time, if at all. There's a few questions here that everyone seems to have different answers to, Does the international community, or at least our own country, have an obligation to deal with
  23. Great fun though. I like sending a text "happy Ramadan" or whatever to a very close Indian mate of mine from Uni and then pretending I didn't know she wasn't actually a Muslim! "f***ing stupid cracker ass whitey!"
  24. We really shouldn't be allowing this in a modern society. It's the 21stC ffs! It will just normalise disgusting fascist views encouraging the deplorable Right to speak up when we should be locking them up for their damaging, invasive and hurtful opinions!
