    Lucky escape

My old man jumped off some racking and took his finger clean off...not a clean snap so couldn’t fix it back on despite that he took it to hospital in a milk bottle......he reckoned he could feel, the end of his finger itching weeks after even though it wasn’t there......legend rip....
  2. Have read your posts before Hilly and thought that’s where you were, the ground you have looks spot on......my type of shooting. Nice to see woodcock are about, should be some more come in midweek when the wind turn to the east.....I’m up the west coast in 2 weeks chasing them....good luck for the rest of the season.
  3. Whereabouts do you shoot Hilly ?.......
  4. Shooting a splash last week and as we walked on put up 20 plus snipe, emptied 2 guns at them for no return !....a good few come in this week on the east coast....woodcock that is...
  5. Ghost dog bottom right....
  6. Mmmm, £25 to put down the traps and a fiver a mole.....doesn’t seem interested in solving my problem, only one mole I reckon so can see why ....
  7. Ok will catch you at some point over weekend. Cheers ?
  8. Will give you a call on Sunday mate and nip up if your around ?
  9. Cheers Don, I got some scissor traps here and caught the odd one but these are real shallow runs on stony ground. She reckoned she had a a good few traps down but nothing caught......it’s a Holliday let so I can’t leave them down for any longer than a few days as do you want traps down when people are in...
  10. I have a place up the Dales where the soil is poor and shallow. Have had a mole (s) making a mess with a load of shallow runs on the lawn, and I mean very shallow runs. Have had a mole catcher out but have lifted their traps after 4 days and said no point putting them back down as the runs are too shallow. First question is can it or they be caught, second is it reasonable for the catcher to invoice me for failing to catch ?

    Iron Arms

I’ve been looking at it all day having a chuckle....
  12. Couple of years ago I went to feed a couple of pigs I had and saw they had rooted up a foot long round. I stuck it on top of the pig house and went to call the cops. I am not far from catterick garrison and the cops and bomb disposal turned up, they xrayed it and it was a tracer round form some sort of anti aircraft gun......I still have it......will stick a pic up
  13. My mate does a game and kidney pudding for our January trip up north every year.......it weighs a ton and it’s oven cooked so the suet pastry goes crispy......top notch...
  14. I’m sure a few of the lads local to you would come to the funeral to support you mate. Where about are you Keith ?...anywhere near the Dales and I for one would come along if you thought it would help. She wouldn’t of wanted you talking like this mate that is for sure......lost my old man 12 month ago in same circumstances and like lots of folk on here it’s right time does heal, you don’t forget mate you just find a different mindset to deal with it.
  15. Been up here for 4 days on west coast doing a bit of all sorts, weather been mixed but couldn’t do what I’ve done anywhere else, love it up here....
  16. Cut it down at night......
