  4. The simple answer is dont breed. Your new so why a litter? Just enjoy working the dog you have, you mention the staff has a nice temperament, is powerfull and fast, hardly touching the tip of the iceberg for a sire of pups, i would also suspect pups from such a union would be squat and slow, but thats just me, there are far too many litters around that will get passed from pillar to post, why add to the number........... spot on! Yokel
  5. them old queen anne russles were all over the place when i was a boy, very rarely see em nowadays... yokel
  6. now jigsaw, after seeing some of your past posts, and some of the dogs you have owned, i thought you could of appreciated this "hypothetical post"! i have a great admiration for the bull breeds, workers that is, and think their ruination came from those selling to any tom dick or harry who happened to have the price of a pup. these dogs should be in the hands of those who have proved that they are worthy of such a beast. not someone meerly asking on a forum. there is no background on the original poster, no reasoning as to why. wanting is not a good enough reason for having such a rareity as
  7. i keep a very good line of pure breed staffords, which i've dedicated many yrs to preserving their working qualitys, i've just bred a litter and i thought, you know what, i wander if there's a stranger on a public forum who would like to sell one of my lifes work to...good luck with your search fella...might i ask, what are your intentions for a 100% working bred staff? Yokel.
  8. had a good wee staff (dog) here a few yrs, hung of the scale at 28lb. and a (bulldog bitch) who went around 26lb in condition. neither were used for ferreting mind... yokel.
  9. this question has been done to death 100 times on here, and as for the "a long time since the bull was anything but a show dog"... hinks created it for the show ring! athletic LOOKS do not mean the animal carries the required attributes the bull and terrier breeds are well known for... Yokel.
  10. GREAT GREAT MAN! Had the plesure of seeing him live on more than one occasion. i'm sure luke, ronnie and ciaran welcomed him up there with a good drink, all the ould ones back together again. god bless and R.I.P... Yokel.
  11. every cripple has his way of walking, so i'm sure there are people out there who'd snap your arm off for these...me, i would'nt give ya 2 bob for one, look like cross bred mutts, and very poor ones at that...j.m.h.o... yokel.

I'm in full agreement here, have a wee wager on this also, nothing i can't afford to lose, but i think there is as a chance here, depends on what del boy gets thru the ropes, as he can blow abit hot n cold ,i.m.o. but this could be a good wee scrap! yokel
  13. just read this, bartons about 4mile from me, i'll keep me eyes and ears open. a.t.b... Yokel.
  14. their sharp as buttons gnash! tho i will say, with hindsight, i.m.o. the 91 D.D.A. was a good thing in a way for the A.P.B.T. over here, as the vast majority of numpties who were owning them back then and getting them the bad press pretty much dropped them and left them to those who truley understood and admired their unique qualities. seems to of turned full circle tho, with every bugger and their chav granny walking around with one. unfortunately, thier never the ones who lose thier yards, it's always the sencible folk who keep them for the right reasons who's door comes of the hinges at bre

the a.p.b.t. like any performance breed, should be about PERFORMANCE & bred for such alone. once you start breeding for leg length, colour, green eyes, red noses & fancy paper work etc, it all goes to pot. i've owned specimens ranging from 26lb to 54lb, some with box heads, others houndy looking critters, wide chests/narrow chests, long/short etc. at the end of the day they don't need a uniform conformation, if they perform then they are built right...just my tuppence worth... I havent got a bad memory for peds but im digging to the depths of my brain now and trying to picture how it would look on paper.......my guess is that would have to be a sibling to Tidy. you'd be about right there gnash, tidy was joe x myrtle (e.p.) myrtle was joe x bash... Yokel.

  23. i've known plenty who kennel out dogs elsewere, be it pups to be brought on, or older ones resting up etc. can see no wrong in it, as long as you trust the other party. hunt kennels often put pups out to be reared then bring them back when their ready for work. depends what you want in a dog, be it soley for sport or an allround companion. yokel.
  24. get and call out your dr, he'll tell you what you need. my brother, a few years back now, had his back go for the umpteenth time, and left it, thinking it would sort itself out as it had done many times before. it did'nt, after a couple of weeks he got the dr out to him, who immediatly called for an ambulance. after no more than 1/2 an hour in a.e. he was transfered to a specialist at addenbrookes hospital for emergency surgery the following morning and given a 50/50 chance of walking again! he's got abit of a black mans limp now, but could of been alot worse. basically, his disc had popped an
