  1. As an enthusiast,...if I want something,..I will pay the price,...money is a fleeting thing,.it comes and by feck,.it soon goes.. A good hearted jukel is a fabulous possession,...(even more so, if you are working for wages)....so,..I don't have a problem with paying my way,...a freebie is nice, of course it is,..and in an ideal world,..lurcher and terrier pups,..plus ferret kits would always be gifted ,..but,..speaking personally,...I never argue over vonga,..
  2. Ok what you say it was? Truth is,...it don't realy matter how the pup is bred,.forget searching for exact percentages,..just enjoy the tyke
  3. Many thanks Mr P Your most generous offer is much appreciated,.. However,...as stated,.events from the past, firmly dictate,..that I just could not do it.
  4. Few years ago,.me and Mike the Dog had a trip to Oxford,...we met up with a handfull of THL members ...One of the lads, had just been 'up country' and purchased a Plummer Terrier puppy...it was a Brindle ! Really liked the pup,...nice plump youngster,..bold, friendly and in my mind, was ideal for the task of a roustabout moucher's tyke. Always liked the look of them,...and as a rabbiter myself,..always fancied owning such a handsome wee bush buster...Doubt I ever will,..(I just couldn't do it,.. ) but,.in common with the situation, regarding top prices for running dogs,..it really is up to
  5. Lovely old thing,...all the best for the future..
  6. Well, I don't mind admitting it,... I am well hooked.... Don't realy know what it is ? I catch well enough with most traps,..but,.there is something primitive about these traps... I just enjoy handling them,.... I find them extremely, tactile...
  7. What a pair of Beauties,...."Bolt or Die",.eh..
  8. @ Tomo.... That old Bulldog is an antique,..I've posed with it all over the UK ; leaned on the fecker for hours,..(never actualy dug anything with it though ) Nevertheless,..it is a good honest tool,...and deserves looking after, so, I'm counting on you to watch over it and monitor Vin's renowned temper tantums and oftimes, erratic behaviour.. If he foolishly breaks it,...please make sure, he stays on that Fell,..fecking perminant...
  9. Had some great nights out,..with a Halford's Special ...
  10. Digging, eh... Well,..he has got the right tool for the job now...
  11. When I visited the factory outlet in Dorking,.I was astonished to see, rows and rows of female Pakistani workers,..all sewing and assembling, waxproof jackets,...I never knew such things existed At the time,..these items were not considered to be on a par with the more expensive Barbour Thornproof,..but,.my wife still wears the WiseWear Leggings to this day,..so,..ya canny moan about that for good value
  12. Yep,... I knew Colin King, and willingly revued, most of his products,... Truth of the matter is,.most of the lamps, back in the day,..were pretty much the same item,...just marketed in different ways. Their power and versilitlity was as nothing, compared to the contemporary dazzlers on offer,.but,..I had great nights out with 'Auld Blue Eye'...and to be honest,..night hunting was far more exciting and interesting back then....Maybe I am looking back to the 1970s and 1980s with rose tinted specticles,...but,..I don't think so...
  13. We cannot tell ya Chicken Man,.cos if we did,..we would have to kill ya...
  14. You are right Fireman,... I used to do a lot of ratting,...lived for it,.Pig farms, maggot farms,..Knacker's yards,..fecking loved it... Ratting, at night,...as you know, is a whole different ball game to hunting them out of game cover, etc,..during the daylight,...Seen some amazing sights after dark,..unforgettable even.. I remember gathering up a Border/ Beddie terrier under my arm and bursting into a farm building,.quick as ya like,..I entered the large barn, and pulled the door shut behind me,..switching my lamp on, I could see, hear and feel,..rats running everywhere,.some hi
  15. Years and years of usage, by Japanese gardeners,..all the canny wisdom of the ancient Samurai sword makers,..to conceive and devise, a rough, tough, carbon steel tool (or a stainless steel fecker for the poofs)....all that creativity to produce that unique concave valley, to help remove loose soil,...yet folk want to place this uniquely useful tool in a fecking vice and bend it straight...! C'mon now bonny lads,.. Rambo knives and secondhand bowie style blades are easily found at most Boot sales,..cheap as chips,.so fer fecks sake, use yer noddles,..leave old Hori Hori alone.
  16. True,.. They are very poor mole traps,...and apart from the glaringly obvious design faults, which will hamper the humane dispatch of the target species,..they are Blue Peter efforts,..made from coat hangers...
  17. I think you had best start advertising for another ferreting partner Tomo... I've seen the effect, that a Red Rust Grain Beetle has on a man,...and when they start on about Pharaoh Ants,.well,..they are half way to becoming,. lost souls. It can take over your life,..the subject is so vast, so all consuming... When you mention trapping a genuine Black Rat from the London docklands, some tyros go all gooey eyed,....and being involved in a massive Cockroach job,..fair sets their pulses racing.. Dear Vin is well hooked on being a Pest Control Officer ...he is obsessed with bugs ! I've ev
  18. Often, it is all down to, supply and demand.... Most enthusiasts want to own a capable jukel,..the best of the best, ain't never gonna be cheap
  19. Agree with that statement 100% Personaly,...I feel that this attitude should apply to all the various lurcher types... Also, to working terriers and ferrets... We breed far too many critters,..we do not need such a glut...surely quality is better than quantity
