Their shining General. It looks like their breeder pumped as much grub into them as he does himself, LMAO. Hope they do both of ye proud. .

Hard to beat (excuse the pun) a bit of rough shooting. Had a good morning doing just that myself.

Woodcock-nice to see them back

Seen 5 this morning, shooting a brace. Not only is that early for this area but it's a lot for one morning around here. I could be wrong but I think the most we seen in one morning last year was 4. -
A fantastic result and also a fantastic night for Irish sport with Aiden O Briens "Highland Reel" winning one of the worlds biggest races at the Breeders Cup. He also trained the third home. Not bad a little country.

Danny was Paddy's father. Sorry Neil , in a rush for the pub , how or is Paddy Danny related to Dixie , i know you keep a tight line so was wondering how close they where Danny was a result of Spike back to his mother, Pip. Dixie was a result of Pip back to her full brother, Joker.

Danny was Paddy's father.

No Smasher, but Spike was.

I sure did DC. She was a terrier who thrived on work. I had a half brother of hers ,"Spike", at the same time. In their hay day I was digging anything between 3 and 6 days a week and Dixie and Spike were getting the brunt of it. I remember often thinking am I over working them ? Then I'd take them out and they'd play a blinder. They thrived on work. Folk would look at Dixie and say that she must be a hard one, but no, she was a good steady type who looked like she did because of loads of hard work. She was also a gentle old soul. Only last year at 14 she was sitting on the passenger seat a

A thing of the past and it's a pity that there's still a few fools who do it.

Used too. They're a great way of keeping a dog fit and amused but some lads put them too high so the dogs feet leave the ground. A big NO NO.
-
Have to agree with that.Glad to say I haven't had the stories that some lads are after describing. Must be a head wrecker to breed from a good bitch and see her quit after coming back to work after the litter. And a reason not to breed her again and from none of the litter . Yep, that's the head wrecking part.

Thanks for all the likes and posts lads. I came in with the dogs this evening and left the front door open so Dixie could go out for a pee. Old habits,

If at ten weeks old he's trying to get his leg over an older bitch you'll have to call him after a stud. Can I suggest "Neil."

I'm not usually one for obituaries regarding dogs, but the last terrier alive in this photo was Dixie (2nd from left) and she died this morning aged 15. Nothing to be sad about as she had a great life and spent the last 4 years in retirement as the house dog. Thankfully she's passed on her great heart and ability and only last week I dug 3 with her Grand Daughter. R.I.P. Dixie, a great terrier.

That pretty girl with the two kids is a nurse. Personally I thought the show was pretty fair. What amazed me was the amount of new customers the shop got after the news shows a killing spree. With so many people carrying guns how come these nuts nearly always get to finish their rampage before either being arrested, shooting themselves or being taken out by the cops. You never hear of a killing spree being stopped by a gun carrying civilian . I'd say when shooting starts all these gun carriers forget they have a gun and run for their lives. The bit of the show about the girl who took a bul

What rough places in dublin were you in mm. tallaght folk said it was rough I felt at home lol Used to drink a good bit in a pub in Tallaght. Always great craic. Used to drink in another pub in Dublin that had a terrible rep and never seen any trouble. The locals made sure of that. The joke with that pub was that when you were going in the bouncer would ask you had you any weapons ? You'd say "No". The bouncer would hand you a knife and say "In that case you better have this."

I think there's a few members on here who use a bit of snow to blow their minds.

I remember a mates Labrador on a days shooting swimming the River Boyne while it was in spate, out the other side ,caught a runner and swam the river back with the Pheasant. The gun who shot the Pheasant presented my mate with a bottle of Glenmorangie in a wooden box the following week. My mate had it for weeks and wouldn't open it because he wouldn't have had a story to tell of the great retrieve. I embarrassed him into opening it one night so he got two glasses and the next thing ya know we had the bottle drunk. He was disgusted. He was even more disgusted when he caught me in his front

I've never hung plucked birds but do know that plunging them in hot water does work. But I rarely do it. Rough shot Pheasant rarely are corn fed so skinning is the handiest option and that's what I do. If they need some fat I drape some rashers across them. Those birds look tasty.

Very nice, I have a great singer in my kitchen but if I hung one of those mule cages up it would be as a decoration. A shame to see it been shit in, LOL.

Nope, lol, there was several new born lambs in the field between 4 and 1 day olds. Worked with sheep long enough to know and I had to look twice. No problems with my lurcher ,she see's sheep every week and knows that lambs are not quarry too. What amazes me is that the farmer who owns them is touching and breeding early lambs is not old school, but who knows ? Maybe he's hoping on an early market.

yes that's true .ran past my house a week or two later. Unexpectedly. Another lad we know had two good terriers ,the were through a lad and not meant for him. Anyway me and me mate Dave went to get him a young adult of bn .it went to bite my ear when we got home , I thought nothing of i . Did hurt bit but would of been worse if got it properly .anyway the lad got dog few days later and never bothered with it then decided to take it out . it bit his expensive coat .don't know what name but the lad was on the blower . So the terrier Pabs ran by your house a week or two later (which was it ) u

To me MIK, it sounds like your season didn't need to go out with a bang anyway.

its all ways funny to me how people say they don't look as if they miss much it's a picture how could you tellF**k me, you're a happy wee f****r aint you?!! Yeah it's a pic, but like G D said, they look in good nick, and like they could put a decent shift in a just thinks it's funny how people can judge a dog by the way it looks ave seen dogs that look fit that couldn't run two feet without passing out that's all am saying pal am all ways happy When lads put up pictures of their pride and joys then that's good enough for me to think that that dog keeps that man happy. Can we assume the do
