Welcome To Gods Country ...."tanner"
neil cooney replied to gwalchmai4110's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
I only read your article in the CMW an hour ago Dan. Nice one and keep up the good work. -
It must be a well known add. I'm just watching the racing at Cheltenham on telly here and the local huntsman (I think they said the Ledbury) paraded his hounds down the track (great to see) and the commentator said he should try the nearest trampoline.

On a small back road around our village there's a cock pheasant attacking people. He's attacked mostly women and has even attacked someone walking a dog. Several people have footage on their phones and I've seen a video of him attacking two lads ,one of which ran away screaming like a bitch, LOL. At our pre-season meeting the subject of this pheasant came up and because he's such a beauty some lads said they'd try and get him on the opening day to win the longest tail. Some of us said to leave him alone and my suggestion was to throw out a few hens with him and he'd go away. The day befo

Lucky for them folk they didn't have a good terrier or it would be a new patio door they'd need for Christmas, LOL.
-
Thanks Tiercel, in my defense the cage looked bigger in the original photo, LOL. Nice video which I've never seen before but I remember my mother and father were out foreign years ago (I forget where) and they described something similar to me. But it was Quail that they seen.

What can I say Russell Digger, the man gave me a quality shovel. I do have another shovel that's lasted 30 years, that's the one that's had 10 new heads and 15 new handles.
-
Oh, so I wouldn't have got that in a million years, LOL.

Love the idea of trail cams for watching wildlife and would love to put a couple around my fowl to see what's watching them at night and licking their lips. But I hate the fact that there's lads using them now to replace fieldcraft. I know of one farm where a fellow with a big rifle (no f***ing way am I calling him a stalker) set up several trail cams to watch the deer. Turned up on time one day and shot a few. A load of bollocks IMO. I like that idea FD of watching a Stoat hunting Rats. The only animal IMO that a trail cam should be used to study with the intention of eventually c

HOLD ON, you forgave me ???????? LOL.

No bother.

AND, I still have that shovel you gave me. It's my favourite shovel and I christened it in a very special way. A way I doubt too many members on here have. It's at the doctors at the moment though getting a new shaft put into it (and NO I'm not like Trigger with his ten new heads and fifteen new handles, LOL.) and can't have it back fast enough. Thinking of those two American gentlemen reminds me of one of them P.M.ing me on Roady's Forum (remember that) and saying that he'd paid good money for a terrier from Ireland and was promised a pedigree. He asked me would I ring the "breeder" (who

Oh OK Glyn, 14 years ago, bloody hell.............where are the years going ?
-
OK, I'll be the one to ask, but what is a Teetar cage ? I was going to guess a drop out cage too, but someone beat me to it .

I wouldn't mind. Glad to hear they're going well for him.
-
Can't remember exactly when they came over but it can't have been more than 10 or 12 years ago so that's should only be 3 or 4 generations. As a matter of fact I think they hunted with Glyn when they were over so he'll know.

I said "SOME good lads."
-
Is that P.S. BlackBuck ?
-
Fair play Ryan, have to admit you did sound like an anti with your first few posts. Welcome to the forum, it can be good craic at times. There's some right good lads on here.

Clinton has just conceded. Interesting times ahead indeed. He's on the news now live with his son standing beside him. If I was that young lad I'd stand another 6 or 7 foot away, just in case the snipers scope is off. LOL.
-
Did you get your terrier from the States or abroad ? I know that 10 or 12 years ago two American gentlemen visited him and took pups with them. They told me they were a little concerned about the size for American hunting but would worry about that when it happened.
-
Woodcock-nice to see them back

Do they let you in for a shot Bell ? LOL. -
Looks delicious. Haven't had Hare in a few years. Funny enough, I was shooting with a lad yesterday and we were talking about cooking game (not Hares) and he told me to check out Scott Rays You Tube videos.
-
Micky, you gave the secret away in your post when you mentioned "the wife". There's the secret. You have a good woman to do all that cookery for you. I used to have one but chucked her out ,so now I have to do all the shooting, preparing, cooking and (bloody hell) the eating, with the eating part helped by my daughter. But, here in Ireland nearly every thing we shoot and eat is wild and to think that the skin left on adds flavour is usually a waste of time. BUT, if I got ducks, pheasants or partridge off a driven shoot that's been corn fed I'll always pluck them.

Nice one Danny, men tested as well as the terrier. If we didn't know better we'd think she's a small wheaten.
