They reckon the IRA planted it.

With all this discussion on the North around the death of Martin McGuinness there could be a lot more trouble about the 3 British soldiers who died up there today when their Land Rover crashed into a tree.

I agree too that there's some excellent Russells out there. Smasher on here, had a Russell only a few years ago that was as good as most or any Fell types. But I do believe that for consistency you can't beat a good line of black terriers. I don't buy this craic of going through several terriers to get a good one. Another thing I've noticed over the years is that some of the best men to work a terrier by getting the most out of it kept Russells. Whether it's because a Russell needs as much help as it can get or because a lot of Russell keepers need different tools in their tool boxes (I do

Mate in all honesty I am sure you are a nice lad and do work you're terriers but you're in danger of sounding like a complete dickhead, if the man likes ratting then that's what he likes doing, you might like bolting foxes like ur name says and I definatley have whitefeet :-))All in good faith Atb Pay no attention to Foxbolter, he loves nature, despite what it did to him.

When I hear lads say that their terriers are single handed proper workers but they also use them as a pack I take their words with a big pinch of salt, a bucket full in fact. Foxes will go to ground, that's a fact, and they'll go into the smallest of places and it would only take something like the wind to be on the back of the guns and a fox would go in rather than make for the open. Then you have several terriers to ground which IMO is cruel to terriers. The fox will only be facing one terrier but that terrier will be pushed forward, it's as simple as that. I do believe theirs lads who wo

One of the Irish mags went bang a couple of years ago so I guess it must have been that one. Haven't seen it in ages. Most anglers nowadays seem to use FaceBook to keep up to date.

Nice write up Jigsaw. I was in a yard a few years back at the start of July in the North and could see a load of skinned goats ready for feeding his dogs, he had about 50 bulldogs, and I asked were they goats ? He said of course they were. It never dawned on me that the 12th was coming up and all these goats had lost their hides for covering the big LAMBEGS.

A young lad gets separated from his mother in a busy shopping center. A security guard sees him crying and asks him "what's your mummy like ?" "Cock and vodka," replies the little lad.

Drones Hovvering Over Yards
neil cooney replied to stonewall's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
Id be surprised to find the pykey dog thieves with the intellect to fly a drone,it takes 4 of them to work out how to bust a padlock and con a pensioner. Ya reckon ? They break into museums nowadays to rob a rhino horn. Working terrier = £200. 2 working terriers = £400 3 working terriers = £600. Each terrier = best in Ireland = gullible fools who'll buy it = 20,000. Cost of a drone = £400. Pilot of drone = 6 year old child = lets face it, a six year old can work an i-phone. Six working terriers @ 200 each = 1200 - the cost of a drone = 800 = some terrier lads waking up to a -

Redquil, I'm glad Navek answered that one because I haven't a clue about Asils, LOL, but have seen plenty of Grades and do like them. I like the look of the Asil too and if that type were my thing I'd keep them.

Drones Hovvering Over Yards
neil cooney replied to stonewall's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
If the man seen a drone over his yard then I believe that's what he seen. As for it being illegal. Dog thieves and anti's don't worry about what's legal and what's illegal. JMHO but in this day and age EVERYONE who keeps working dogs (all types) has to assume that they are being watched and must take the correct security. As for finding kennels etc. you don't need a drone. The scum who rob houses, sheds etc. have their mates in Google Maps doing their reckies for them. That Google Maps IMO should be banned. -
The Asil cross American is what's known as a Grade and very few know the secret to get the most of them, also all your Roundheads are the result of a Grade and that speaks for itself.

Probably RH, if Plucky doesn't threaten to rat me out I'll have to open a new account and start an argument with myself. And that can get messy when I start threatening myself and end up kicking in my own front door.

Yep, DCs posts were always enjoyable and senseable, hopefully he'll be back. Perthshire Keeper and Duckwing were two other members who don't come on the Hunting Life anymore and always wrote enjoyable posts. If THL gets any quieter I'll have to open a few accounts like Plucky does and start arguing with myself.

If you can afford it I'd have her jabbed anyway. There's no rules IMO to a bitches heat. Some come in for a few days ,some come in for 3 weeks, some are fertile after a couple of days, some are only fertile after 12 or 14 days. JMHO. There's no point in risking a litter being born with only 3 legs.

Apart from Altior today IMO is a mine field but Nicky Henderson could have a good day. Wont be getting stuck in today and see how it goes. Nap of the week for me is Djakadam in the Gold Cup on Friday. Backed him the last two years, 2nd both times. Hopefully this is his year.

The daughter tried to put up a couple of pics of him last night Glyn but it kept saying they were too big. I'll ask her again later but Cheltenham is the only thing she'll be thinking of this week, LOL.

How Is Your Season Shaping Up.
neil cooney replied to fat man's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
I used to be in that position but ruined any within a field or two of my house. Terriers remember where they are and I lost a good terrier a few hundred yards from my front door in a place I didn't know was there. I'd only just moved house. -
I told a lie, he's actually 10 months old. I'll see if my daughter will put a pic of him up later. If she will I wont put it on FDs thread. His terriers make mine look ugly, LOL.

Nice. Have one here the same age and the first young entry in a couple of years. The youngsters are what it's all about.

That's the thing, because as we speak there's dog lovers throwing their dogs into dogs homes so tomorrow they can get American Cockers isn't it better that an already destroyed breed becomes this year must have fashion accessory ? I heard Clair Balding mention that the Lakeland is a vulnerable breed. Hopefully she's right and it becomes extinct so that only the few who work it hold on to it.

They say an angler goes through 4 stages in life, 1 To catch a fish, 2 To catch the most fish, 3 To catch thee fish, 4 To just fish.
