Left a lot of destruction here on the Irish east coast.
  3. If it was a vixen in that first one she'll move on now that her cover's been blown.
  4. That's true Dillydog. Friends in this game are like terriers. You're better of with a half a dozen good ones than a dozen bad ones.
  5. Jmho but the types we work today evolved at a time when hunting as we know it was also evolving and practical hunters bred what they felt was needed for their hunting country and different quarry species. Yes, there were different types evolving into todays breeds / types but the reason for that was because back then a hunter could only use what he knew of and was practically available. He wouldn't have know back then that someone 100 miles up the road also had excellent terriers. BUT, in this day and age IMO if someone wants to start something new for no other reason than starting something
  6. There are so many different scenarios. The pups could throw back to the whippet and be small or they could throw to the stag or saluki and be big. Or she could have 10 small pups or 3 monsters. Main thing is to have your bitch fit and healthy and the vets number handy, if that's possible where you live.
  7. I like them, they're in typical poses. Pity there seems to be a bit of damage to the stoats pelt.
  8. I'll presume the £1000 includes the first back hander to the judge when the terrier's shown ?
  9. Nonsense, yes all types have other blood in their ancestory. Nobody's denying that. But to suggest that there's Border and Russell only a COUPLE of generations back in Fell lines is bullshit. I've had my line for around 8 generations and my friend who's had the line longer has had them a few generations before that. I know the couple of outcrosses I used inside out so my question is ? Did someone sneak in to my yard in the last few years with their Russell or Border stud and let it mate my bitches ?????????????? Lads who always come out with the remark that there's no one with terrier
  10. Sionnach, the Gaelic for fox I would pronounce "shin-ock" but obviously it would be pronounced differently around Ireland. Another common name for the fox in Ireland is "Madra Rua," . Madra meaning dog ,Rua meaning red, The Red Dog. And for anyone else who's interested. Madra Uisce , the Otter, uisce being water. The Water Dog. And guess what Broc is Irish for ? The first man to show me the ropes regarding strongdogs, terriers and running dogs was born in America and raised in an Irish speaking part of Galway. He gave all his dogs Irish names and at one time had over 100 dogs. So
  11. No thanks Waz, I threw it together one day when the terrier forum was quiet. But it's good to see normal order has been resumed and we're all arguing and debating again, LOL.

  14. Stupid argument IMO. Whatever about back in the day when the Russell and the Fox Terrier had a common ancestor not to far back and the Staff was a real dog. Further North the Lakeland, the Border and the Bedlington also had a common ancestor not to far back. Then, all were workers. But here we have so called dog men discussing modern day curs such as the Plummer and the Jagd or whatever it's called. I'd love if someone could put up a link to an article Plummer wrote years ago in an Irish magazine (he hadn't the guts to write it for the British) regarding his distaste for those who w
  15. IMHO there's those who want a genuine pedigree for themselves, usually good lads, then there's the lads who couldn't make head nor tail of one and don't care. Then there's those who IMO are the parasite's of the working terrier world and need other men's terriers pedigrees to sell their dirt. They know who they are. Those parasites are the reason good genuine lads keep their cards close to their chest. Put yourself in their shoes. If you'd busted your bollocks all your life to have a line of workers worth being proud off, would you leave yourself wide open for some puppy peddling ra
  16. I agree 99% and the 1% I have a problem with is when your hard work and pride and joys turn up in some other lads pedigree. You and I might only deal with genuine lads but do the genuine lads you entrust with such info only deal with genuine lads. In an ideal world, YES, in reality ,NO.
  17. It's a few years ago now but if I remember correctly Benn beat Watson fair and square and was robbed against Eubanks. Benn V McClelland put IMO Benn up there with the greats. JMHO.
  18. Cowards. Who was the heavyweight champ years ago who shot a car thief and the judge said if had hit him he'd be going to jail ?
  19. Once a dog man, always a dog man.
  20. Oh you've put it up before Marshman as I recall us debating over whether you were trying to be Elton John or Elvis Presley. LOL. Good pic.
