  1. Pablo, if I see anything that I think will add fuel to the anti fire then I'll speak my mind and seeing these things would be impossible if my head was stuck up my arse. But not only that, I as much as anyone else don't want to see decent lads getting in trouble. All the cowboys that were on here seem to have brought their egos over to bookface where there seems to be nobody to tell them to cop on to themselves. f**k them, they all seem to get a knock on the door eventually. Hanging themselves, you couldn't make it up. But, their leaving here IMO has left a decent bunch of lads to have the
  2. If this thread disintegrates into "is hunting violent ?" debate could the mods pull the plug or edit it ???? Such a debate has no room here and the use of the very word in the first place was stupid.
  3. Pick and Bar, you mightn't be new to terrierwork but you might be new to this inter-net thing and it's crawling with anti's and those who would love to deny you off your dogs. Calling terrierwork violent is stupid and makes you sound like a 15 year old wannabee macho man and mentioning how often you loose terriers is stupid too. There's not a single fieldsport or aspect to hunting that I haven't seen and I've never seen violence of any sort. I have seen it mentioned by anti's many times. It's an anti thing. Talk like that draws out the wannabees on here and that's exactly what the anti's
  4. If it ever happens you Snappeer we'll have a laugh and a joke about it.
  5. For a discreet, secret organisation this thread makes it look like the worlds worst kept secret. I'm beginning to think it's rarer to not be a mason.
  6. You told me about them last year Mosby and as there's a different angle to what's been written before they should go well for you and be hits. Best of luck with them.
  7. Loosing that fish will just make you hungrier for the next time. Good read.
  8. Where there's honour, prestige and rosettes of course there'll be skulduggery and IMO I like the bit of craic it causes but I doubt very much that cash changes hands just to win a show. Also, it shouldn't take away from the fact that Gamehawker is sponsoring it with prizes that, let's face it, are only of use to those who work their terriers. I've judged plenty of shows and if anyone ever handed me cash before a show I'd take it, no problem whatsoever. They wouldn't be getting a rosette though.
  9. He's not going to be small. Who ever you got him off didn't cut any corners on rearing. He's a beauty.
  10. OH Look, that poor Lemur has a parasite stuck to it's arse.
  11. Just out of interest ,what age is he ?
  12. He's probably grown his beak long on purpose so he can rob your chips when you're not looking. Seriously though, he'll eventually starve to death.
  13. I thought you's do have Ospreys in the UK ?
  14. It has trouble written all over it. Lovely pup, in with the kids where it should be.
  15. They say a fisherman goes through 4 stages in his life, 1. First to catch a fish. 2. Then to catch the most fish. 3. Then to catch "thee" fish. 4. Lastly, just to fish. Maybe some of us hunters go through the same, but IMO those who take their dogs and hunting seriously if they think they have a good one they will at some stage want to see just how good it really is. There's absolutely no harm in testing a dog especially if you're thinking of the next generation and some times the test isn't just what the dog can do in a days hunting but what it can do in a week, a season or several s
  16. Reminds me of a few years ago when some yobs broke into Dublin Zoo and threw the penguins into the lions. Funny enough, the lions didn't eat them.
  17. What could be more natural ? Ferret and dog working together, man's just a spectator.
  18. They're quiet late so they'll have it tough to migrate. Anyone else notice swallows and martins gathering earlier than usual this year ?
  19. It seems to be a British thing, ie. to make the few hundred who care about vermin aware so they can make life miserable for the thousands who's livelihoods it effects. The British government should take a leaf out of the Irish governments books, ie. Employ dozens of cowboys to set snares nilly willy around the countryside.
  20. LOL, I didn't think anyone would take that serious, even though I know that it's possible. But when Dai offered to do the carrying the heaviest quarry I could think off was the red deer. However, I do believe there are dogs out there who can carry out unbelievable feats. And funny enough they're rarely owned by braggards or boasters but by modest lads who let their dogs do the talking.
