Those sheep in the photos are used to dogs and that helps a lot. It's great to see a pup looking all around but ignoring the sheep, as if they're just part of the scenery. The lurcher I have now I brought her into the same field of sheep every day (with permission) and they got used to her as she got used to them. She loves to chase a tennis ball and by the time those sheep went to market I was able to throw a tennis ball straight at the sheep and she'd chase and retrieve it without incident. Touch wood, LOL.

JMHO but to net a large number of hares in the daytime it must be as close to a military operation as any country sport can be. From the setting of the nets to the organizing of the beaters to what has already been said, the men on the nets who'll be boxing the hares. IMO it's not something to chance your arm at, but if you have a large hare population and will be stocking them where they're scarce then well done to you. Anythings better than shooting them. Again IMO, you'd be mad to not take Phil up on his offer and remember to keep your mouth shut and your ears open if you do join him,

I know of a good family of springer spaniels that carry the defect and they're real good at their job. But some of them do get found dead in the morning once they reach a mature age. But, as has been said if it were mine I'd carry on as normal. If the terrier croaks it during work ,well, that's life and IMO it's how a terrier would rather to go than dying as an over weight lapdog. I just wouldn't breed from it. It's probably more common than we think.

I know of a miracle well where, they say, if you get into it and sit in it for a few minutes you'll be cured of whatever ails you. They say years ago a fellow in a wheel chair was wheeled through it and when he came out the other side no one could believe their eyes. Brand new tyres.

In the last 10 years or so I would think 90% of lads prosecuted were caught because they put up incriminating evidence on the WWW. The authorities used to have to get their feet dirty to catch lads they suspected of breaking the law, now they can catch lads while drinking a mug of coffee. Lads nowadays grass themselves up, LOL, you couldn't make it up. And all while dragging the rest of us down with their stupidity.

They say (how I don't know) that most humans swallow 9 spiders while asleep in their life time. So, if you swallowed one of those you would know because you wouldn't feel like breakfast in the morning. Full of protein too.

Just to let you know.Regarding your first sentence, once again here in Eire the minister has seen common sense and given the Coursing Clubs their licenses to hold their meetings. Somebody must be fighting our corner.

I thought it was cats that had 9 lives. Great news and hope the poor mite makes a full recovery.

Get Some Top Pups Out Of These Two
neil cooney replied to top dog 1's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Or lukis ?Or lalukis even lol No, I know of a lad who bought the same cross for £200. After 4 hours he got bored of the pup and advertised it as a Laluki for £600. The lad who then bought it realised after 6 hours that it was not up to his standard and advertised it as a Salukador and got £1500 for it. Mind you, he did put in the add that it killed 4 out of 3.................LOL. -
Show him this thread and tell him we all said he's a brave little hero.

Get Some Top Pups Out Of These Two
neil cooney replied to top dog 1's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Here's a hint...... Don't advertise the pups as lurchers, you'll only get £200 to £300 per pup. Call them "Salukadors" and ask for £1500 a pup. You're welcome. -
The anti's were celebrating this a few weeks ago and so far in all Easons stores they haven't touched the fieldsports mags so hopefully they just told the anti's that to shut them up. But it's no harm letting Easons know we're not happy.

Congratulations, so far two pages of in-fighting among hunters. What's the goal ? Ten pages ?

Keep seeing that quote JD....last week I was handed a copy of the CAs magazine off a pal who shoots,it contained plenty of shooting, mounted packs etc I saw the word "terrier" printed once, this was in a generic advertisement, coursing /lurcherwork/ferrets were not mentioned at all seems the divides already well and truly in place mate Was there articles on fishing, falconry, longnetting, squirrel shooting, mink hunting and pigeon decoying in it ? What you're looking for is a magazine on terriers and lurcher . Can I suggest EDRD ? Cop on to yourself and look at the big picture, like mo

I thought by now Young Man that some of our more intelligent members would have answered you. On layman's (Me) terms some females of some species can absorb the fetuses of their unborn back into their own bodies to save nutrition and giving birth. Personally, I didn't know a bitch could do it. I know some years some species have bad breeding years while others have good breeding years and this can happen in domestic species too, ie. dogs and ferrets. IMO it can often be natures way of regulating populations. But what we're hearing the last few years regarding such things like fading pup

One of the biggest loads of bullshit I've ever read on the inter-net (and I watch the anti sites too) and may I suggest you educate yourself on the subject before trying to get fieldsport folk arguing among themselves. Is there not a laboratory nearby you could be standing outside with your placard, seeing that the hunting season hasn't started yet and then you'll be otherwise engaged ?

What , you had to keep your trousers on ?

They say the best way to die is peacefully in your sleep, like my Grand dad did. Not screaming and roaring like his passengers. Also when you get on the plane ask the stewardess where's the black box and then stay beside it. It's always the first thing they look for after a crash.

For Sale, Authentic Yorkshire Terriers - Deadgame. Boys £1000 - Girls £1500. Still, if the general public wants to think that those little lapdogs are working terriers then so be it. How could anyone want to ban those little bundles of joy, LOL.
-
Agreed, any good publicity is welcome. Mind you, when I was watching it I had to press the information button to check that it was Countryfile.

Funny year for sure, I'm now in the predicament where I might have to breed within the season. I've no choice.

Two lads I know cleaned out their garages and brought all the unwanted stuff to sell on the one stall. A man came up, looked at a pair of shoes and asked "how much for one shoe." He was a one legged Romanian and my friend sold him one shoe.

It's very foolish to dismiss these wack jobs. There's a new organisation here in Ireland called ARAN, Animal Rights Action Network. It's obvious they haven't a clue as they walked into a well known Dublin restaurant and stole the live lobsters out of the tank. They took the lobsters to the sea and liberated (their words, not mine) them. It didn't matter to them when it was pointed out that the lobsters were not our native species and would die in the Irish Sea. This week Aran has admitted they've bought a drone which they have already broken the law with and say they are going to use it to

Is The Apbt The True Bulldog Or A Terrier Cross?
neil cooney replied to DogFox123's topic in General Talk
And where did the black and tan come from in some terrier breeds. So do you think Rottweilers and Kerry Beagles are terrier crosses ? do you think the apbt are rottweiler x ? Not for one second nor do I think there's terrier in them. Why do you think Terrier was added to the end of the name if not because terrier blood was used? If the German word for terrier is Pincer then how did the Doberman Pincer get it's name ? Why is the Airedale classed as a terrier if it never went to ground ? It's just one of those things that the APB got the T stuck on at the end. It's
