  1. My 2p's for what it's worth. Whenever humans first domesticated a spiecies for their own use, the first thing they tried to do, is breed out (for want of better words) the wildness of the spiecies that is being domesticated by selective breeding. To an extent that has worked for a milenium as most of the animals we use these days be it for food or hunting are those that have taken well to the domestication process. However, some animals do not take well to domestication, some have to retain that little bit of wildness to be usefull as a hunting tool. In the main I am thinking about ha
  2. He cannot sell it as he does not have a licence to fish commercially as the boat is not registered. Same with anyone who sets nets or fishes for sport, are not supposed to sell their catch. Unless they have a licence. TC
  3. We have similar hedges up to 20 feet wide and solid blackthorn. TC
  4. Go on, admit it, your just old fashioned Just old I think. Too old to change TC
  5. Just my personal opinion. Locators are good at the job they do (well most of the time) no one doubts that. If I was ferreting on the yorkshire moors I would probably have one. The only problem I have with the locators is, the indescriminate use by amauter ferreters who are just doing it as a hobby, but have neither the field craft or the sense or responsibility to use them correctly. I have always been a hobby ferreter, never claimed to be anything else. If I lose a rabbit out of a net, or a ferret kills and I cannot retrieve the rabbit, so what, personally I dont give a feck! However,
  6. Are your ferrets bolters? Probably no more than any other ferret, they are just run of the mill workers. However, when worked right I think most ferrets are bolters. 99% of my ferreting is in hedgerows, I have found if you work the hedge with the wind at your back so the ferrets are entered on the upwind side of a warren the rabbits usually bolt as they can smell the ferret coming. Does not always work of course, but more often that not it will. Another factor is unless it is a really big warren I only enter one ferret anything over 30 holes I consider big, I expect my ferrets to work a 3
  7. They are a good tool to have, but I have never owned one and never will. And before the righteous brigade start moaning about losing ferrets in over 50 years of ferreting I have only lost one. That fell down a crack in limestone on the brecon beacons, even then I knew where it was, just could not get to it. TC
  8. When I seen the interview with her I had tears in my eyes. When I just read what you have just written I have tears in my eyes again. It really boils my piss that coke users can get their noses rebuilt on the NHS, yet this lady has to suffer such a disfigurment with no imediate prospect of getting it rectified. I wish I could give you more than one like. TC

So,if they are sent back to the uk after three years? Does our justice system then take precedence? As they would be elagable for parole by our laws. TC
  13. All the above and a lot more. As i get older the worse I get. It's the ones who think they are the only people who have right to be on the road. Women with stupid private plates who think that because the have a BMW every other person on the road knows what they are thinking and where they are going, ERGO no need to keep in the correct lane or indicate. FFFFFFFFuuuuuk it really winds me up. TC

I first came into contact with him on Pigeonwatch when he went as vimm. The way he wound them up, he had it down to an art form. A very knowledgable chap though. Pity he went over to the dark side with the rifles . TC
  15. Some say it's better to be born lucky than rich? Others say you make your own luck? Whats your thoughts on it? Does it exist? Or is it just random circumstances that impacts on your life? TC

  17. No mate.....miles off.........seems tricky to get a definitive answer ........maybe I should ask the fisheries officer ? As PK stated each area has their own by-laws regarding mesh size and placements of nets. The best way to find them out is to ask a fisheries officer from the area for a copy of them. TC
