First impression was it was a French scene not English and I would make the scene in the reign of george the lll or louis XV of france around 1750. When it was made though is anybodies guess. Have alook at a genuine one from that time and note the diffence in the colours. TC

With regards to your caulis boys were the leaves tinted with a reddy rust colour. If so it sounds like cabbage rootfly. I have tried ever 'herbal remody' that is available, collars, planting them in holes and then scraping the sides of the stalk as it grows an back filling the hole to encourage new roots to form. None of it works for me. When I had the allotment I would give them one dusting of Bromphis and no problems. Now the bloody eec has put a stop to all chemical pest control for the gardener. TC

They do live in family groupes, but what happens is, when the males get to breeding age they are cast out of the set to find their own place. Once established in an old rabbit warren in new territory he can then try and attract new females, sometimes he does and the set and the family grows. Sometimes he does not and he either moves on or dies? All the above is just conjecture based on my observations over the last 45 years. I have seen rabbit warrens taken over and dug out by badgers many a time, some are now big badger sets, others though are still rabbit warrens with a few big badgery l

Radicalism 66.5 Socialism 43.75 Tenderness 50 These scores indicate that you are a moderate progressive; this is the political profile one might associate with a university professor. It appears that you are skeptical towards religion, and have a pragmatic attitude towards humanity in general. Your attitudes towards economics appear neither committedly capitalist nor socialist, and combined with your social attitudes this creates the picture of someone who would generally be described as a political centrist. To round out the picture you appear to be, political pre

Havn't a clue FT just know they are coming from Sittingborne in Kent. Looking at the nylon net I think the best thing to do with that is stretch it out on a field then if you and a mate take a selvedge each and stand about 5 ft apart and pull the net back towards you and drop the net so that it lays stretched out width ways between you, it will then be ready thread the selvedges I would not add the running line just yet as you do not know the length of it. TC
-
FT When your net arrives from Kent, if you weigh it accuratly you can have a rough estimate on how many yards are in the nylon net. 4z weighs 1.15 kilos for a 100 yards. @15.5 meshes deep The other net looks to be made up of two different twines one of which is the butchers twine that agouti was selling a few years back. The other twine? It's hard to tell from the photo as it may not give a true representation of colour but it looks grey in the photo. TC

One thing though, that might ostracize you, people may think your from the valleys if you say but , butty or mun. just not the said thing in West Wales. You will have to learn a new set of Welsh / Wenglish colloquialisms. Like dew, never, of course that. And the best one of all who belongs to that boat? TC

Agouti, But don't buy polypropolyne buy hollow nylon braid. Polyproplyne plucks like hell and makes dents in the braid that stops the meshes running along the lines. TC
-
First off you need to know exactly how long the nets are. Easist way of doing that is to count the meshes. Once you know the actual stretched length then half of that length will be the length of the finished net. So if the 100yard net has 900 meshes and is 4" mesh it will make a 50 yard or 2 x 25 yard nets. So you will need actual length of the net plus 4 yards if you intend to use 1 yard bridles. TC
