  1. Those Withs are cracking little boats, will plane with a small motor, and despite being mono hull the reverse chimes make it stable on the water. You got me hankering after another boat to do for the summer next year. TC
  2. nowt worse than when foam get wet, weighs twice as much heres mine 24ft coble Always liked the look of a coble, good sea boats stood the test of time. TC
  3. I have had a few from 30ft down to 13 ft but don't have any photos. Ant that CJR14 has seen a few better days, if you have had the deck up check the keel board they have a habit of being rotten. While you have the deck up fill the hull with empty pop bottles cram in as many as you can, far better than any foam as they do not take in water like foam. It also limits the amount of water you will take on board should you hole the hull. Nice stable little sea boats those apart from the slap slap when at anchor and the bang bang in any sort of wave. The centre keel does not protrude forward enou
  4. Use hazel poles, cost nowt and do the job. TC
  5. If she only got three months there is more to this than you stated do you have a link? TC Probs about right given a good lawyer and a sympathetic judge. The judiciary would have seen her drug use as a mitigating factor rather than an additional crime. I have looked for this case on google and cannot find any mention of it? That is why I asked for a link. I do not disagree with what you are saying would just like to get the whole story. TC

  7. To be honest fraz no, it did not look like a craft of any kind it was just a bright orange ball, just like a mini sun. It has been suggested to me that it could have been Sirius the dog star with atmospherics making it look orange, others have said it could be a planet. But that would not account for the time it took to travel the 10 miles of my vision. Who knows. TC
  8. Kevi show them the one you made. With the automatic drop system of a key fob. TC
  9. I did not hear anything, at the time I did not have a clue, to be honest I still don't. Over the years I have thought about it, it was an orange light and very bright and to travel approx 10 miles in around a minute it was travelling at some speed. The problem you have in the valleys is that your horizon is high in the sky because of the mountains. I now live on the coast and you horizons are far bigger than in the valleys. It could have been just a mile away and high enough in the sky to clear the back drop of the mountain or it could have actually been larger and above the mountains.
  10. About 50 years ago I was walking to a friends house and the mountain was the back drop behind the house, there was a ball of light above the mountain, I have no idea how big or how far away it was, but it looked less than a quarter of the size of a full moon. As I was walking south up the road to my mates house, I saw it come from the east and travel what seemed to be along the mountain top towards the west. Looking back now the distance I saw it travel was approx 10 miles from the time I first saw it to the time it disappeared. It's hard to say now how long I watched it for but it was no
  11. Yes...... :hmm: difficult choice but have to agree. Thick as three short planks politically wise most of them. Some even believe that UKIP will be different. Now that is a TC
  12. Sod the fennel, look at his swede almost perfect, wish I could grow them like that. You boys are putting me to shame. TC
  13. Following on from Smithies memories of nights out, here is one I had in 2010 that I would rather forget. Today I have been excited all day, a good wind up, if anything a bit too strong. With the local forecast giving the winds turning N Westerly and decreasing to a steady 15 to 20 mph with no rain till later in the night, I had been looking forward to getting out with the nets this evening. So at 6.30 i set off for the 10-minute drive to the grounds to be netted. I should have guessed by the way the car was rocking while waiting at some traffic lights, that the wind was less than ideal. 14. Thats the thing with robs work, he takes on board different peoples opinions as they are all valid, it also gives him options and ideas for future work. TC
  15. Some woods are better with bark off as the bark splits and peels when dry. Holly and Rowan are two that do, with some like Ash taking the bark off is optional and it has merit both ways. TC
  16. And we all know that is not going to happen. Bloody clocks. TC
  17. I do not trap, but follow the forum as it really interests me. I have seen photo's of all types of coverings that have been classed as a tunnel and if truth be told they are tunnels, whether they are fit for purpose is another matter? But what is fit for purpose? For a fen I suppose it has to be strong enough to trap the target against the roof of the tunnel while minimising the chances of catching a non target species by restricting the entrance size? For a body grip as long as the entrance size was proportionate to the animal you are trapping as long as there is a covering over the trap
  18. Ran out of superlatives I'll just give it the thumbs up TC
  19. Any bets that they will be on the look out for new stock? Dog thefts in the area to increase? TC
  20. The barstewards have already made smoking the crime of the century telling people that it costs the NHS amount of money a year blah blah blah. What the don't tell you is the the revenue from tobacco is 12.3 billion £'s a year the same for alcohol which contributes 14.6 billion £'s a year. so that is nearly 27 billion £'s that we criminals that smoke and drink contribute over and above what a person who does neither contributes every year and now they want to charge us more on top FCUK OFF. Edited for the links. http://www.the-tma.org.uk/tma-publications-research/facts-figures/tax-reve
  21. You have to be kidding? Right? You stop off for a pint at the end of your shift, walk outside the pub and a car knocks you down, but because you have alcohol in your system it is classed as alcohol related and they charge you £50 to be admitted to hospital. We already pay over the odds because of the NHS, and all the fat barstewards with the private health insurance paid for by us want to charge us for what we already pay for. You must be having a laugh? TC
  22. I wont if she ever sees this thread. I think toast is the appropriate word. TC
