  1. The problem is statistically there is no type of person that is a paedophile. Statistically there will be some who are members on here. It is not just the higher classes, you could be living next door to one and you would never know. What I cannot understand is what they get out of it. Even the power trip to me just does not make sense, as for a power trip to work it has to be over something that has power in it's self, what power does a child have? TC
  2. The nearest dealer to you is in Treforest. http://www.al-ko.de/haendler/map/map.php?department=3&country=gb&language=en TC
  3. This might be a good place to start? TC
  4. I fished the Skerries about 25 years ago, the skippers who fish there are the best I have ever been out with. We fished it in March and the Plaice even though plentiful were not really in good condition as they had just spawned. That said we still had plaice to 3lb to the boat. I bet they are in primes condition at the moment though. TC
  5. As long as the net is made of a good nylon and is whole, there is not a lot to choose between sellers. However, where Nelson excels is in customer service he actually cares that people who buy his nets get the best out of them. If that means hours on the phone then he will do it. It is not just about the sale, the help is available to all who buy his nets. To my mind that is priceless. TC
  6. And thats worth everything mate 100% agree. TC
  7. Slowed down now (It's an age thing) but used to shoot, wildfowling, pigeon shooting, roost and decoys, walked up and flighting woodcock and the odd beaters day driven. Ferreting, ran lurchers on the lamp, had hawks for a few years, long netting. Never tried snaring or trapping apart from rats, never really appealed to me. That said, I did buy some snares, and set them out one evening and as I was getting back to the car, a van load of gypsies turned up so I went back pulled the snares stuck them back in the shed and thats where they have stayed that was about 5 years ago. TC
  8. Been around cattle all my life, the three worst bulls are, as they say in no particular order. Jersey, Guernsey and Friesians I would not trust those an inch. The rest are pretty good if you follow a few simple rules, never walk between them and his cows, strange dogs that they do not know are a no no. Generally speaking though the bigger the bull the more placid it is. That said you do get some big ones go off the rails sometimes. TC
  9. Not wishing to boast, but I can honestly say I understand women perfectly. They are all fecking evil, except Mam. TC
  10. Your not on your own there, I do it every day. How, even after all these years, am I supposed to know what she is thinking? TC
  11. Without a doubt, http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/user/79188-nels0n/ Just send him a pm saying what you need. TC
  12. I like woodworking with reclaimed timber, and in all honesty I am not too bad, far from good, but just a bit above average. This Sapele table started as window sills reclaimed from a skip. TC
  13. That and the trapping thread were locked when the threads were made, as they are more like articles than threads for discussion. TC
  14. Depends what the backing of the wall is, plasterboard will dry quicker than stone. give it two weeks and you should be safe. TC
  15. Again I have kept ferrets for over 50 years and never seen a flea on one of them. This year they are walking with fleas. I have tried everything. (spent a fortune) but they have always been back in a week or two. TC
  16. over cooked it dogger test for setting point much earlier That is why it's called easy, as if you follow the recipe it is fool proof. And I am proof of that. TC
  17. My fault sorry, bridles go from the anchor to the net. A strop goes from the anchor to the buoy on the surface. When pulling up an anchor it is far easier if it is pulled out in the opposite direction to which it is being pulled either by boat or net. A lot of people put a weak link on the front of the anchor but attach the anchor rope on the crown or the back of the anchor then if the anchor gets stuck the weak link breaks and it allows you to pull it out the way it went in. Shifts

I used to do a three shift pattern afternoons then double back to mornings and end the 7 days on nights, then two days off. Then start again what ever shift landed on a Friday you did for 3 days. One week end off a month. TC
  19. Another tip is keep the bridles that go from the anchor to the net longer than the depth of water you are fishing in. There are a few reasons for this but the main two are. 1 It lets you set the anchor before you shoot the net. So you know for definite that the anchor is set and not going to move. 2 When you drop the second anchor you will always have slack in the bridle because of the depth of water and the angle of the bridle from the bottom to the surface. By having the longer bridles it ensures that the net cannot get caught up in the anchor as it moves and takes up the slack with
  20. A little tip if you are not using a hauler as it can be murder if the wind or tide is against you when hauling the net. Get a couple of old window sash weights. Failing that use some heavy chain. When you want to haul the net if you can haul into the wind, that way the wind keeps you off the net when you are hauling. Do you have bull horns on the front of the boat? If you don't you will be pulling the boat sidewards as you haul the net. this is where the sash weight / chain will help. Go to the up wind side of the net and pull up the anchor and replace it with the sash weight drop the sash
  21. As you are netting of a boat that is a different story. I think the best type of anchor for you would be home made Danforth types. Only do not made the holding flukes as big as on the proper Danforth, and don't forget to make a loop or drill a hole to allow you to fit your strops at the back end, crown, of the anchor, makes pulling up the anchor a lot easier. https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=homemade+danforth+anchor&biw=1352&bih=632&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=7nYaVJ_rKaPN7Abq5IDQCQ&ved=0CDEQsAQ TC
  22. Do you intend netting in the same spot or moving the net around around? The easiest way is to dig boards in to the sand around 2ft depth, with lengths of rope coming off the boards. Simple pieces of ply 9" square with a hole the size of the rope drilled in the centre will do the job. Pass the rope through the hole make a double overhand loop and pull tight. If the net has a lead line then one tie on each end of the net is all you need, if it does not have a lead line then one tie every 10 yards of net would be better. TC
  23. GGibb not every one living on the streets or homeless is an alcoholic. There are many reasons why people become homeless, if I were to hazard a guess I would say a lot of the reasons were purely circumstance. I ended up living in a barn for a couple of months when I was younger, I was lucky I still had a job to go to every day. Some are not that fortunate, especially ex service men who have problems, some with PTSD and cannot adjust to normal life. There is an old saying and I think it has been mentioned in this thread. "There but for the grace of god go I" you would do well to think a
