Apparently the lower the PH the better for spuds, bigger yields & less disease. The almost neutral PH you have could account for the wonderful brassicas you are growing. TC -

Thats the way to do it. I can promise you it only gets better. There is nothing like working on your own. You never going to catch as many as a pair, but that does not matter. Seven rabbits from a drop is a dam good catch. TC

It comes to us all, slowly but surely. Usually starts off as I need to get a bit fitter, it wasn't as hard last year. Aches and pains that last for weeks not a few days as they used to. It starts a chain of thought that "Is it worth the pain" at first the answer is usually yes, but there comes a point, where for some it becomes physically impossible to walk up them hills as you used to. So then you either adapt or don't go. Time and tide wait for no man, thats for sure. TC

Terry, try the deseire as wedges, wash the skins cut them into wedges biol for about 3 minutes then sprinkle with what ever seasoning you fancy and spray with frylight and stick them in the JML for about 20 minutes on 200. Crispy on the out side soft and fluffy on the inside. One way to get a good crop of potatoes is to make sure the Ph of the soil is around 5 anywhere between 4.6 and 5.5 is the optimum ph for potatoes. If the ph is too high sprinkle flowers of sulphate over the soil before planting in the spring that should bring the ph down. TC

Funnily enough, I don't look on it as obedience, more like the dog knowing it's job. Once the dog knows what you want of it, and how you want it to react in any given situation, then you have a partnership that works. As you cannot do without the dog and without you the dog is ineffectual. Symbiosis working together for a common aim. TC -
I think of it this way, were the police negligent when they handed the dogs over to the RSPCA? I would say no as it is a recognised procedure that is done nearly every day, while investigations are on going. Were the RSPCA negligent when they handed the dogs to a sub contract kennels? I would say yes, as they are ultimately responsible for the dogs. Are the RSPCA exceeding their remit by not returning the dogs when there was no case to answer? No the police are the ones that have been declared the ones who have sized the dogs who passed them on to the rspca for safe keeping which they have failed to do so under the 2006 welfare act so both are responsible they will find that they are subject to privet prosecutions as both party's have failed to provide adequate care and safety for the animals To Be honest, looking at that scenario a PP against the police who in good faith gave dogs to the RSPCA, a supposedly reputable animal charity, would have about as much chance as a snowball in hell of succeeding. In one way you are right Truther, but the problem with the world today is that no one is allowed to die. People are living longer and the birth rate is not reflecting that. The drug corporations are on to a good thing. The longer people live, the longer they are dependant on the drugs they supply, and in the mean time infant mortality is dropping so there are their future customers. If you want to lamp without a moon all you have to do is vary the times you go out. The moon will rise today at 6.37pm tomorrow it will be approx 7.30 the day after 8.30. It gets dark at approx 7pm so you can get an hour in with no moon in two days time. The same goes for a rising moon go out after the moon has set, that means getting up early though. Lamp like that and there are only 3 or 4 days a month that you cannot get out without the moon being up. and as it gets dark earlier the more time you will have without the moon.
