    Bushnell

They're good. I would only get bushnell and i would buy from amazon, that way its so easy to send back should anything go wrong. Bushnell has features that make it easy to use.
  2. chaffinch. it needs to be force fed with live food/ tinned dog food if it is to survive
  3. If you have new Fenns that have a coat of grease on them and wish for them to get a fine layer of rust on so you can put rustoleum/speed dip on them, then place them, in a set position into the dishwasher. Easy.
  4. The dog in the north out of nuttall breeding?
  5. No. There's no chance you'll be granted a license. The EA is snowed under with complaints, but the only thing they will do is tell you to otter fence the fishery. they have hardly any funding too, so don't expect any financial help from them. thats the thing, these 'conservation' bodies seem obsessed with apex predators, but they cannot see the damage they do. It's ok saying that 'they will find a level', but when theres a million ponds stuffed with carp then they won't ever find a level! JMHO.
  6. Forget the maggots mate, try get some live mini mealworms. Feed the white ones. Once the chick is feeding from tweezers/fingers readily start offering the mealworm lower and lower until you're actually holding it on the floor. Then its a case of simply moving your finger/tweezers away bit by bit. Thats how they will feed for themselves. By the description i would say that it will be a few days yet.
  7. Dog food...tinned, in a syringe. I've hand reared a few. I also add baked beans, peas and banana.... little and often. very often! The first feed has got to begin early morning, i would say about 5.30, then hourly all day. Thats giving the bird a full crop each time. Once you've got the bird up and ready to 'fledge' then pm me and i will tell you how to get it eating for itself....
  8. Four or five wooden boxes without bottoms placed along the perimeter, especially in the thicker cover. The rabbits cannot resist going through them and a fenn/solway mk6 will hoover them up. BUT it's important that you ensure they are not breeding in the garden and that new rabbits cannot get in the garden. You don't need anything fancy, just a plain wooden box made out of any wood, only the height of a sprung mk6. I also squeeze urine from the previous victim in the box, it always helps bring another one into the kill zone.
  9. Hard to judge the size mate, but if i had to guess it would be Robin....
  10. yes, i know what you're saying, but the shots are no good...it's not just yours, mines the same. They are simply not crisp or sharp. I do not rate the 70-200...however it is versatile fro me doing still shooting, but for any kind of action then forget it. It all depends what he wants the lens for i guess... fook me we agree on something one thing i will say about extenders the Kenko 1.4 at around quid is from what i can see nearly on par with the canon but a third of the price, although i have to admit i have not been happy with the the shots taken with either the Kenko or the canon

  12. I'd get yourself to byron.......and get a deal hammered out if i were you matey on the 2.8....
  13. a 70-200 f2.8 with a 1.4 extender will give you 280mm at f4 Thats in theory... :whistling: I've tried em, and them extenders are not all they're cracked up to be....IMO. Actually, on a cropped sensor it will give you 280mm, then add you're 1.4 on......400+  Mindst you, theory and practice ain't always good bedfellows.....
  14. prime all the way, my 70-200 isnt crisp enough for me...not a patch on the 300
  15. Its not really the best time of year for larsons. But, i'd lose that daft plastic magpie. A larsen trap works because of territorial disputes. Right now theres young maggies about and the territories are fragmented a bit. maybe march-may would be a better time to catch them. personally,i'd bait a spot with a gutted rabbit or squirrel for a few days, then put the trap the with a bait in and see. but i wouldn't hold my breath!
  16. You wasted that sparrowhawk with those shit pictures........  you need beating with that camera!
  17. it also helps when theres not threes 70lb dogs pulling your other arm off at the same time teach them to walk at heel don't tell me you're blaming your shite pics on your poor dogs??? :D some of them 100% its not walking to heel that the problem, its when they see what i can teach them to lay down then..... Best shot i ever took, well, one of em, was on a 18-55 kit lens and a 300D , or was it a 350 D...i can't quite remember. Anyway, my advice would be to forget raw, forget changing camera, invest in some serious glass.

  19. Oh, just one more thing...a good photo is mostly down to he man holding the camera...
  20. Lens....well....you get what you pay for. If you want tack sharp then go for the L series of lens. If you don't want tack sharp then get some other brand and slap it on the front. As for raw, well, i've spent my lifetime behind a camera and i've experiented with raw, and , to be honest, i now only shoot jpeg. Raw is over-rated IMO. Unless you're going real deep into things and trying to layer pics then there really is not need. You're just over-complicating things. You need to get top-class on the kit you're using first before experimenting with raw. It all boils down to two things..how mu
