  1. Lucy was top -of-the-tree....... a proper game, hard bitch I saw her run loads and I think I might have even taken the odd photo of her too over the years....... Molly and Dolly? Well, I got to say that they are both nice runners. From the little I saw of them.
  2. Lapwings and curlews all have young here...
  3. Well, the place is very well keepered, but i reckon it looks like a crow myself...but,really, who knows....I hope she rebuilds quicky.
  4. this would have been a good one if i'd have found it a bit earlier....Redshank...
  5. Get out with an experienced terrierman before you ruin the dog.
  6. I've seen a full pack of hounds walk over a single entranced earth without scarcely a second sniff and yet a little terrier bitch marked it strongly on the lead.....I've also seen a great many packs of hounds false mark...I'd trust a good, loyal terrier over a hound any day of the week...
  7. I think you'll find the Chief Constable can do more or less as he pleases. Hes the judge jury & appeal court! If he considers it a good requirement then he has the powers to insist on a competency certificate. No, he has to work under the parameters of the law surely.......IF DSC is not a legal stipulation then it's not a legal stipulation.
  8. Every canary I ever owned was bred out of a single pair.....
  9. Coot is correct, the sparrowhawk is, in fact, tree creeper....obviously the photo makes size difficult to judge......good guessing!!
  10. Yes, they are heavy with spawn at this time of year, however, todays carp are far more heavy and rotund than the wild carp of years gone by. A case of breeding and feeding... cracking fish.....and paulus, get some dog biscuits thrown in and get them carp hauled out!
  11. Nice bird is a tree pipit......they should be getting ready for their first brood anytime now...
  12. Mink and otters won't eat in the water, they'll drag their victims onto land to eat at their leisure....my moneys on mink....
  13. Look what's happened to it's neck. Unless the photo isn't right it looks like the predators chewed the skin and meat off the neck, leaving the vertebrae intact. This must require small, sharp teeth I would imagine.....And if the predator is catching them in the water it sort of narrows things down....JMHO. Unless they're getting caught on land?
