Aye mate.....is this thread just for this year?? or previous nests?
-
A bit of a crappy pic, I couldn't get a decent shot of the nest due to its position and i dare not disturb the bark. I have quite a few of these nesting in my home made nest site too, which are 100% squirrel proof!

It's his job to be controversial...... And...don't forget folks, he's on our side, he is pro-countrysports....

That jays a beauty...I'm watching two at the moment... I've never found them prone top deserting...

There is no legal stipulation to ring with current year, so at a push you could ring with last years rings if it came down to it. I would go with the IOA, I've heard a few things I don't like about the BBC, that Roger Caton being expert witness against bird breeders. To be it's like a dog man giving evidence against another dog man. And I've also heard a few things about what they might do with information, such as names and addresses of people buying rings, particularlly the smaller sizes....stay safe folks..

I don't think hares think like that....they don't think:"Oh no, here's a predator, I will 'lead' it away from the female'.....they do not have that level of understanding and thinking. And how do you know it's always bucks that rise first...? And again, that's in my experience..... WELL Well what? -
He tried, 'spose you got to give him credit for that! The Fell Terrier cannot ever be repeated, times have moved on, things change and that book was snap-shot of an era that, today, seems so long ago. it's done now, and it's the best it's ever going to be, so read the book for its strengths , not it's weaknesses....JMHO.

I think, though, if a fellow digging man had have done that book it would have easily made two volumes and there would have maybe been more stories. But, as it stands today, many years later, it still is a good , historical read. those times and those men can never be repeated.....I wonder how many in it are still alive and kicking?

It's the best book plummer ever did IMO....it's a classic when all's said and done. History, I bet lots of men in that book are now passed away.

I've learned something new today..... Well I haven't but its proved what I always knew..... You know f**k all about hares you've coursed hares all your life, written books about them and you've only realized what the rest of us have known since we were in short trousers!!!! f**k me, what a f*****g joke. I hope everyone who buys your books realizes that you only know what you've seen on the Internet. What's these other amazing things you've witnessed them doing???? Can't wait to f*****g hear them the sad thing is, your doing a hare project which is pretty much a book about hares and you know -

I am sure the days I will start taking macro pics will arrive in my life, so I keep my eyes open for macro lens. I as told, the these lenses around 90-105mm are all good of any party (Sigma, Tamron, Tokina, Nikon and Canon). Why did you change your Sigma to a Canon 100mm? YIS, Anna Hi Anna, the sigma was good, but the canon is just that bit sharper.......with sigma it's a bit hit and miss whether you get a good lens or not, I was lucky, but I wouldn't gamble next time. If you get a sharp lens, and a nice flash unit, off he camera, then you can get up to some pretty cool stuff.
-
Well, it's better than my first attempts.. ..but if you get more serious about taking macro then the flash is real important, more so than anything else.....thats if you want nice, crisp images.... this is one of my macro shots, without flash it wouldn't have been much.....that was taken with my old sigma 150mm macro, today I use a canon 100mm and a set of twin flashes.....JD

Brilliant....those superdomes really are good aint they? The TX is well suited to them, as is is look-a-likey, the 77... I remember walloping a rabbit with a dome at a Very long range, it fell on its side kicking, we ranged it with one of the very first bushnell range finders, and it was very far! This was in the mid 90's, I had alot of fun with the 77 and a pocket full of 'domes... Good shooting...
-
Humans aside, it can only be one of two predators.....otters or mink....look for tracks in the soft mud and you'll soon get the answer....
-
What lens, what flash? The thing with true macro; a flash is very, very important IMO.
-
Oh well, another tosser brought to justice......to me, Rolf Harris was the best news in a long while...a BBC and RSPCA luvvie, a fukcin nonce.....

The thing is; that teacher was a genuine decent person. She was a caring person and was not one of the 'power mad' ones, she cared. A very kind soul. She was my cousin's teacher. She tried her best, she made a difference to a lot of lifes. RIP. How can this be prevented from being repeated? I don;t know if you can prevent a nutter... it's only a matter of tiem before there's scanners and armed security on all UK schools,...... Whats gone wrong with this world?

Where did you answer me? I asked why do you think, 9 times out of 10, that the buck jumped first? you have not answered.
