    My first cross deerhound/greyhound bitch Nancy is six months old now, so measured and weighed her today. She's 26 " and 58lb; Progressing as expected. Recall is good, retrieve just so-so, but hopefully will improve. She's going to be a big strong bitch, will probably give her a run around the end of February , but no rush. Cheers.

    Can anyone, from either side of the debate, explain why the government and the police would suppress information confirming the existence of big cats in Britain ? I can't see any advantage it would give them; but I could see a big disadvantage; if someone was hurt or killed by one of these alleged animals, and it was found out to be a cover up, the press would have a field day !     Are they though ? A recent poll found 93% wanted a referendum on "net zero". I think Boris is going to get a huge shock before the next General Election, and when the pollsters tell him the Tories are going to lose big because people think the cost of "net zero" is unaffordable, he will do another of his "u" turns.     People were cheering Boris and Sunak when they had a photo op at a pub. Why ??? You need to drink 30 pints to save less than a quid ! And the breweries are already saying the savings won't be passed on to the customer, they'll be used to offset other rises like the rise in minimum wage. Ive never seen a budget in my lifetime that has made a normal working man better off, when all the rhetoric is disected, we are allways worse off. Cheers.

    Woke up at 3:30 yesterday morning. Shivering like a whipped cur; Sweating like a peadophile in a crèche; And wretchimg like I'd been force fed a rancid rat ! My missus immeadiatly suspected Covid as I'd been with my nephew last weekend and he's come down with it. Anyway the test was negative, and I didn't have the symptoms like loss of taste and smell or a sore thoat. In bed all day yesterday and woke up at 3:30 again this morning , not as bad but still feeling like shit. I suspect food poisoning, maybe the Asda sausage rolls or the pork noodles I ate. L

    Farage has just interviewed the CEO of Punch pubs. He said the 3 p per pint savings will not be taken off the price of a pint.......it will be used to offset other price rises such as the rise in the national wage, etc. So, just more smoke and mirrors, the drinker won't see any savings, in fact the price of spirits is going UP ! Much like the freezing of fuel duty.....they make it sound like a tax cut on petrol and diesel, in fact they are just not increasing the tax. Cant see anything in the budget that will improve the lives of working people or pensioners. Cheers.

    I was offered that bitch at 12 month old, I should have took it but I had three dogs and was waiting on a pup. It went on to be a decent bitch and took a lot of stuff. Cheers.

    Been out a couple of times today, just walking the dogs, and the ground is just about perfect, saw a fox and a roe, the urge to slip was almost overwhelming, but the pups still far to young. Cheers.

    When it starts to be a chore, when it's not fun anymore, then it's time to get out the game ! Im sitting here listening to the wind and watching the trees whipping about ,wishing my pup was old enough to be out on the lamp ! When I lose that feeling, I'll know it'll be time to hang up the lamp ! ? Cheers.

    I've no experience of the cross, but I've seen a few, so these pics may give you an idea of what to expect, at least as to what they look like Two litter sisters, deerhound x Wheatan/Greyhound ; A litter brother went down south, and was evidently a very tidy dog on fox and deer. The bitch in the first picture was put back to a deerhound, and the only pup I've seen looks like a smaller, stockier deerhound. Not exactly the breeding you mentioned, but as near as I've seen. Cheers.

    Spotted these on my wander this morning; I've tentatively identified them as "shaggy parasols"; am I correct ? Shame if they are, they're poisonous, and there was a few big ones ! Cheers.
