News this morning that Biden has offered Johnson an opportunity to join NAFTA, before a bilateral trade deal is agreed. The Mail is deriding it as putting us on the same level as Mexico. What's wrong with that ? NAFTA is a free trade agreement between the US, Mexico and Canada. I see it as a way of getting a trade deal with America without waiting for the US-EU deal, which could take years. "Real Politik" at work ! Cheers.

I always respect and try to understand other people points of view, but I'm really struggling with Wilfs outlook on this particular subject. I agree that the government should be helping to insulate homes, and they ARE, o.k., perhaps they could do more. So I have sympathy with the cause, but not the method. The protesters are doing this to gain attention to their cause, but all it's doing is putting innocent lives in danger and attracting bad publicity. Wilf, you seem to be completely missing the point ! Im sure most people sympathise and agree with the aims of the protesters, but not with their method of protest. Id have far more sympathy and even respect for them if they ran in front of government cars, glued themselves to the Prime Ministers plane, chained them selves to Downing Street gates, etc. As it is, I reserve my sympathy for the woman who is still in hospital following the pile up, and the old woman who is paralysed because her son couldn't get her to hospital in time because of the protest. I'm not a mind reader Wilf ? The government DOES have schemes to insulate homes, as well as install more efficient boilers, thermostatic radiator valves, etc. People get financial help, and if you are on benefits, it's free ! Cheers.

They are using a new tactic this morning; running in front of moving traffic on the M25 to make them brake. This looks, to me, like a deliberate attempt to cause accidents. Now, I don't mind if a few of them get flattened, but what about the drivers that may hit them ? It could ruin their lives, but hey, what does that matter to these lunatics, as long as they get the attention they crave....... Cheers.

Irrelevant. I've allready said I believe in protest, and have some sympathy with their cause. What I disagree with is them targeting the wrong people. Again, as I've already said, why don't they target the people they are pissed off at, the politicians ? Chain themselves to the gates of #10, glue themselves to the ministerial cars. When I was taking my two kids for their daily chemotherapy, if those c**ts had blocked my way on the pretence my house needed insulating, I would have,without doubt or hesitation drove over or through them ! To some it may just be an inconvenience, to others, it may be life or death. Cheers.
