  1. That's about £160, things have got a lot more expensive since I spent time there, but to be fair, it's worth it for the experience and memories. Enjoy it ? Cheers.
  2. Depends what you want. I used to have a word with the lads who took tourists out to the islands and would fish while the boat waited to bring them back. Would catch fish and have them barbecued on the the boat. Nothing huge but caught plenty , and back then just paid around 100-200 baht, next to nothing, doubtless it will cost more now, but a bit different to fishing the specimen lakes. Cheers.
  3. "Eyes like a shithouse Rat"......and that was meant as a compliment ! ? ! Cheers.
  4. There's reports that one of them was a "traveller" and they're both lesbians, so social services were afraid of racist and homophobic accusations if they delved to deep. If this is true, there needs to be an independent inquiry and heads should roll. Nothing will happen of course, and that particular head of children's services has already resigned before the court case, no doubt with a golden handshake and a pension. It stinks, like all the other cases, but we will hear all the platitudes and of course "lessons will be learned." Will they f**k ! Cheers.
  5. I remember it well. Peter Easterby and another man were charged with allowing their land to be used for illegal hare coursing. They pleaded not guilty but the judge found them guilty, but gave them absolute discharges, stating that the Hunting Act was confusingly worded. Prescott and Clarissa pleaded guilty to illegal coursing, and again the judge gave absolute discharges. No costs were levied against any of the defendants. I still see and chat with one of the other lady defendants, she usually has one of her old coursing whippets with her at the Whippet racing. Grand old lady to chat to
  6. No, I mean Prescott and Clarissa , Date set for 'hare coursing' trial at Scarborough Magistrates Court - Horse & Hound WWW.HORSEANDHOUND.CO.UK Peter Easterby, Sir Mark Prescott, Clarissa Dickson Wright and four other defendants are to tried for alleged illegal hare-coursing at Scarborough Magistrates Court... Cheers.
  7. Indoor plumbing is getting a lot more popular now, some houses even have electricity ! ? ! Cheers.
  8. I'm just waiting for the left wing shithouses complaining about mentioning the word "lesbian". Cheers.
  9. I know they won't let us hang them, but these two should at least be sterilised so the can't have any more kids........ Cheers.
  10. Just a quick thought on why the dogs were muzzled; Perhaps they interpreted The Hunting Act as it being illegal to KILL a mammal with a dog, and by muzzling , tried to show there was no intention to kill ? Wrong interpretation, of course, but who knows ? Cheers.
  11. I've no idea why the dogs were muzzled, maybe using Irish coursing as an example ? Clarissa was a qualified lawyer, so I'd guess she had some faith in the loopholes they were employing, sadly she was wrong. Anyhow, it's an interesting debate, but I'll bow out now before it gets repetitive ? Cheers.
  12. I hate to be like a dog with a bone, (forgive the pun), on this, but Prescott and Clarrisa had guns, birds of prey and the hounds muzzled at their meet, hoping to exploit loopholes, but were arrested, charged and found guilty, although a sympathetic judge gave them an absolute discharge. i contend that there are NO legal loopholes for hare coursing and its the luck of the draw how the police, courts, etc, interpret the laws. Cheers.
  13. Yes, there are still small, eight or sixteen dog stakes going on clandestinely, but they are well aware they are doing it illegally, not using any perceived loopholes. The dam to my pup was runner up in one of these stakes last year and I didn't find out about until afterwards, fair pissed me off realising I wasn't part of the in crowd ! ??? ! Cheers.
  14. What legal loopholes ? The only one I could see was using two dogs to flush a hare to a bird of prey. This was very ambiguous, with Prescott being prosecuted for it, and Sagar seemingly doing it with impunity. Make no mistake, the coursing fraternity tried every angle to circumvent the law, using any perceived loophole, birds of prey, guns, muzzling the hounds, but failed at every attempt. Cheers.
  15. Yes, it's there in section 5 of Schedule one, exempt hunting, stalking and flushing out. No where in the act does it mention any more than two dogs. Cheers.
  16. Here's the relevant section of the hunting act, including wounded animals; Section 1 (5) states no more than two dogs to be used in stalking or flushing. section 5 deals with the retrieving of wounded hares. Hunting Act 2004 WWW.LEGISLATION.GOV.UK An Act to make provision about hunting wild mammals with dogs; to prohibit hare coursing; and for connected purposes. 9 Cheers.
  17. I know, but the ban was never about animal welfare, it was the Labour Party wanting, in their words, "to give Tory toffs in red coats a bloody nose" And in the draughting of the law, instead of saying foxes and foxhounds, it was extended as a catchall to include all dogs and all mammals, with the exception of rats and rabbits. Purely class hatred, nothing to do with animal welfare. Cheers.
  18. Never heard of that. The only exemption I know of is to use a maximum of two dogs to flush game to a gun or bird of prey. Cheers.
  19. Beagles are the same as any other dog in relation to the Hunting Act. Hares are their quarry, and hunting hares is illegal. Cheers.
  20. Correct, but the law used to be "Trespass in pursuit of game AND coney". I know because I've been charged with it twice; won one, lost one ? Cheers.
  21. Remember the Working Lurcher Association? When it was going to become affiliated with the Countryside Alliance ? I was asked to become a committee member but declined. I knew since the Hunting Ban that the CA had no interest in Lurchers, and would throw us under the bus without a moments hesitation, and they have at every opportunity! As for confiscating dogs, it's nothing new, there's lads on here who have had dogs taken. Poaching has never been legal, and to be fair, the punishments have been far harsher in the past, but on balance, I wouldn't mind being deported to Australia
  22. My daughter in law and grandson visited us from Saudi. I took them to the swimming pool at Outer West, Newcastle, and there was literally only me and my four year old grandson in the pool, and his mum and grandmother were taking pics of us on their 'phones from the side. Some jobsworth ran, yes, ran up to them and ordered them to stop taking pictures and delete the ones they had took. We told them we were family, and there was no one else around, but he insisted it was against the law, and if they didn't stop we would have to leave ! Welcome to modern Britain ! Cheers
  23. Cheap ! £160 from the Reindeer Centre ; Store - The Cairngorm Reindeer Herd WWW.CAIRNGORMREINDEER.CO.UK WE CAN ONLY PELTS POST WITHIN THE UK. We source our reindeer pelts from Finland, where the reindeer are still managed by the Sami people as free-ranging... Cheers.
  24. I'm dead against this ban, but playing Devils advocate, they wouldn't care if they were shedded antlers or not. If the species is on the list, that's it......banned. Reindeer are on the list, but the herds in the Cairngorms are managed and partly financed by the sale of pelts and antler products, so will we see a scenario where you can buy the banned products in the U.K. But can't import them from, say Canada or Finland ? Or will the domestic products be also banned, leading to the paradoxical situation where the UK's reindeer will suffer from a law meant to protect them ? Like most
