  1. I remember this guy....he used to phone me sometimes.... As an aside,...there is possibly no easier hybrid to produce than a Whippet, (KC or Hard-Blood) put over a Greyhound....Ive seen big heavyweight, 'Scratch Dogs' muller all sorts of critters,..it ain't unexpected,...it is, what it is..?
  2. Fabulous looking animals in top notch condition...I wish them great success...?
  3. Herders are often amazingly useful dogs for ferreting, especially when working amidst rough, heavily wooded old places.
  4. Hey Brother Ken,...take a quick peek on YouTube at the Hoof GP ...I know you will enjoy it.. I stumbled on this guy by accident,...ye know what,...I think I am becoming addicted..?
  5. Good head, serious looking gal....I wish you both good fortune..?
  6. ? In the wild, many animals have to find a way to compensate for, and somehow survive, terrible injuries,...they have no other choice. By the same token, not all creatures make the cut,..most succumb and die. As for lurchers with 'problems',...well,.. I have watched my own (and a few others belonging to fellow enthusiasts),..try to get by and do their job,...but in most cases it is patently obvious that their lives would be a whole lot easier, if they did not have a disability..I've never found that a dog which has lost one sense to have miraculously aquired another one? ..This woul
  7. I think most hunting enthusiasts enjoy watching any type of competent dog doing the job it was bred to do ?
  8. Hi,..I've owned and worked a couple of Bilaterally Deaf lurchers,...it was emotional..? For a working dog, not having full command of its faculties is a definitate handicap,.even more so if the malady causes the animal to be a bit on the nervy, spooky side. Schooling such animals is always going to be difficult, and as such it requires a whole lot of thinking, 'outside the box'.... Personally,...its an experience that I would not wish to repeat....?
  9. Lovely dog and a great bit of ground..?
  10. Adaptability and understanding is the hallmark of a good schooler of dogs, and chavies..?
  11. ? I USED to be a serious fecker over jukels,.and my gun came out of its holster like 'Quick Draw MacGraw"? Things are different now,..life moves on and dawgs, ferrets, killing whatever rises, and the constant pressures that the hunting game inevitably creates,..no longer rule me...? Far from awarding respect and kudos to similarly bred guys who think along the same lines as I once did,..nowadays I look them in the eyes,..and feel kinda sorry for them....?
  12. ? Back in the 1980's,..Kelpies were my first choice to 'improve' the contemporary rabbiting/mouching curs...? Lots of water has flowed under lots of bridges (and a whole lot of fine fish alongside it)...and my own path took on a different direction,..but, I have always favoured this type of herder. So much to say,...so many opinions, anacdotes and exciting events to relate,,.but possibly best left for another time and another place. ? Suffice to say,..I still like to hear, all the news from lurcher lads that have chosen to take , "a walk on the wild side"... Please, keep
  13. ? Have you tried contacting The Antiques Road Show...?
  14. Keep trying fellah,...there is nothing worse than letting a Jukel go to the wrong home,..but this horrendous situation is almost as bad as living with a lurcher, that you do not love. Maybe try some of the multitude of Facebook orientated, Lurcher and Ferreting sites. Some of these guys are just everyday Joe's and in no way, 'Hardcore Hunters' .? Corrispondingly, they are a tad more forgiving and chilled as regards owning a world beater... I wish you good luck ..?
  15. Hi Ferretman? Yes I have 150 snares fitted with Ash pegs and Wire Tealers,...all made for me by the Master Trapper,..my dear friend,.Mr Glenn Waters. PM me for price please...?

  19. Yes,..did Number one just two days ago... In a shed,..size of a Tennis Ball ...?
  20. Ferrets are such valuable hunting aids, it pays to breed the best,.. to the best....?
  21. Well, there really is only one sure-fire way to find out if the job is finacially viable,...and that is by giving it a brave go... I started out many years ago,..and to be honest, my only option was to reach for the stars, because I sure as hell was going down the hill,..fast..? Nowadays, there is a whole lot of legislation that I did not have to face, so as you probably know, it pays to get yourself certificated in the various tasks, or trouble will ensue. I only do a few Moles and Rabbits during the Winter months, and treat Wasp and Hornet nests from May through to late Septem
