  1. Lovely images,..stay safe Brother...?
  2. Cymag and Phostoxin are cruel and wicked potions....I've used both on rabbits (and other miscellaneous exotics) back in the day.?.. Thank God , I repented of my sins,...and went 100% 'natural'...?
  3. Gillian has a real nice eye for working type dogs. She has done pictures for quite a few lurcher and gundog owners locally.?
  4. There are some amazing engineers out there?
  5. Nice long back,..just my type,..looks real weasle-like and agile...?
  6. Nice handy Jukel Brambles?
  7. Hunted with Adrian,...sound guy....?
  8. Alan, you sound like an old style freelancer to me? I like pheasants,..we just rip the breast off and use them in all manner of interesting dishes.. Mind you,..I do prefer a good curry over most scran..?
  9. Hi Chris, given the county that you are intending to work in,..I would think seriously about some kind of whippet based hybrid.? I catch a few rabbits in East and West Sussex, and as you know, it is extremely heavily wooded... Such a terrain can sometimes harbour good amounts of conies,..and the facts are, when you are rabbiting in ditch bottoms, deep old hedgerows. brash, etc, there is no need for a very large jukel...As for keeping your rabbit dog as a family pet,..well, I've always liked my dogs around me , and as long as your chavies are fully aware that it is a dog, and not a t
  10. Well, that hit the spot Terry,.. what a genuine emotive post. it sent shivers down my spine. I don't know whether to congratulate you ,.or curse ye?
  11. Great book Tats..?.. made all the more enjoyable when you know the author, is a genuine Goodfellah?
  12. You are right to fancy a Deerhound hybrid Rory,..? They are beautiful canines and can give you some good sport... During the 1980's, the Deerhound influence locally, reigned supreme and it seemed as though everyone had a rough coated jukel...Lovely dogs, Cracking good times, exciting nights? However, as the years rolled by, I saw fewer and fewer lurchers with an obvious Deerhound ancestory... Then, during the late 1990's my own choice of target species changed, so I decided to downsize my lurchers a tad...The end result of this project was perfectly satisfactory and more
  13. ? A sad tale old friend...but knowing human nature as I do, and having experienced similar shit myself, (on numerous fecking occasions),..I am not suprised...? Facts are, when such a project goes tits up and you lose that feel good factor with regards to carrying on, it invariably dies a death,..some folk say, 'put on the back boiler' to wait until another time. Unfortunately,..that time never comes... Stay safe now, and many thanks for answering my question.. Kind regards, OldPhil.?
  14. Many thanks Loton Moocher,..I don't get to see any Hunting related magazines these days...?
  15. How did the article go fellah,...I've walked out with both men,...very different types...?
  16. Great to read (and inwardly digest),..some credible imput, on the subject of Traps..? As an aside,..whatever happened to the Fenn Book project? In my opinion,..YOU were,.(and still are), the best man for that task...? The Fenn Trap came on the rural scene at a time when the Gin Trap was banned,..and as such it filled a much needed gap within the realms of Game Preservation and Pest Control. I really do think that the history and facts , should be recorded for posterity... AS I say,...only one man can do this job justice... Maybe throw me a PM sometime soon..?
  17. That is the best way to keep the nails short...? I believe that a hell of a lot of toe injuries are caused, by overly long nails... Nowadays I use a Dremmel Grinder,.. I find it is a vast improvement on the Clippers..?
  18. ?Yep, its a difficult one , that's for sure? There is never a guarantee, that sold or gifted pups will have a long and happy life... Personally, I feel that high-powered, performance dogs and other, serious minded tykes, are best placed in hands that know how to handle them....or problems can occur... I remember once seeing a real, forward-looking Collie dog ..He was bred from good, strong eyed hill workers and had ended up on a big housing estate. The folk had been touring around the Welsh hills and had seen a hand-written sign advertising, 'Beautiful Border Collie Pups for Sal
