  1. ???? My previous had shotguns included on the same pass, hand written.............. so did my latest, the format changed though and it was typed, whatever, they are no use anymore.
  2. I think the 10/22 has a lot to do with the accuracy perception of semis. Many are simply useless out of the box (please don't write letters if yours is ok, you are simply one of the lucky ones) that's why so many people buy a 10-22, throw most of it a way and replace all sorts of parts with better after market parts. To be honest a semi will never deliver the accuracy of a bolt action, but the difference can be measured in gnats whiskers...my Magtech 7022 is very light, incredibly cheap and delivers some cracking accuracy/consistency as well.
  3. I've not been before, not a fan of the NEC. Is it worth it, the Game Fair was a let down this year?
  4. Yep! But I would have to say, if he is new to this I would simply start with a cheap old eBay torch and mount and see how things go!
  5. I've been in this business a good while but the majority of my stocks are Plastic, with just a handful of varnished wood. Just the same, I always look at the weather and treat them with respect, but what is the issue with Stain and Tru oil, is that a problem in the wet/cold/whatever??
  6. You are some clever lads! On a similar note, I have a lovely oak table but it has a few dents in it, I'm told that heat/water may help bring it back. Anyone help me with some ideas how to do it, Thanks!
  7. Frankly they should be under the terms of the W&C Act, they are a non indigenous species, unlawfully released/escaped into the wild, and it should be shoot on sight, but for some reason a few years back we actually gave them a season! The reason for their presence in the wild in the UK is similar to the Muntjac, but so far no seasons for them??? Lets be clear here, I have no specific downer on them, I simply do not understand the Legislature of this country sometimes!!
  8. A man from Beds, home of the CWD!!! They haven't arrived my way yet!!!!

    RITTENHOUSE

I remember the incident at the time, its another world altogether regarding guns in the USA. Still not quite sure I get the verdict, seems to me he was out looking for trouble, but I obviously don't have all the facts. Apparently Biden thinks he was guilty, so if that senile old man thinks that, then I guess he must be innocent!
  10. Not being funny but, right situation, it should be less than 1", if mine ever goes outside 1" it's back to the drawing board!
  11. Worth a try but I find these tend to zip right through with little expansion. I'd check the zero with the 17g V-Max! That will confirm 2 things, first, that the ammo batch is fine (or not) and second, it is accurate! Cleaning has been mentioned, you will get all reactions to this from NEVER clean it, the zero takes ages to come back, or my view, clean it regularly, but make sure you clean it thoroughly. Too many people give them a quick run through, simply raise fouling and then complain its worse than before they started. And be careful, that tiny little bore needs to be treated
  12. I've shot every deer bar a CWD (never seen one in the wild) in this country, and the Muntjac eats best in "my" opinion!!
  13. You are going to get a few different answers. The truth is I've tried a lot over the years and probably still looking for the ideal one, (but a couple of different ones come in handy), whatever...KEEP IS SHARP, VERY SHARP and you will not go far wrong!!
  14. I drop in this area from time to time and I'm always impressed with peoples skills!
  15. They need some of this, you don't have to find the body or get access to it, (it will stop smelling when the bodily fluids are all gone), just put a drop of this down in various areas around the site and the smell is completely masked. Its VERY strong and lasts a long time, I mean potentially weeks!!!!! Comes in assorted flavours, mine must be at least 10 years old (shows how rarely I need to use it) but on the handful of occasions I have used it , its been great!!!
  16. Absolutely correct, and not a pleasant smell either. But I find it rarely happens, the smell will go when the bodily fluids dry up, which can be quite quickly in hot weather, or there are plenty of Deodorising gels about which do a very good job of masking the smell!
  17. should I seal it up or what I always prefer to solve the problem first then do the proofing. No point filling a hole first, the rodent will simply try to get in somewhere else.
  18. I have never found the 20g FMJ/hollow point HMR any good on fox, but the 17G V-Max has always done me well.
  19. Best I ever did with the HMR at 100 yards. 4 shots, I bottled out of the 5th, and frankly I've never tried again! To be honest I have always found the HMR has the edge on the WMR for accuracy, but only just, its very close!
  20. Over 4 years this thread has been running and still no PROOF!!!!!! Just fuzzy pictures, cardboard cut-outs, hoaxes, drunks, and people who have 100% proof/evidence but for some strange reason want to keep it all secret!
  21. Time was when Sound Moderators were really hard to get a slot for in the UK, and there was very little choice as well. The youngsters on this site will be scratching there heads as Sound mods are now easy to get on ticket, and the choice is plentiful here these days, just the same a mod still needs its own slot on our FAC's. To be honest I have not been abroad with any guns for a while, and my Firearms Passport for the EU is now defunct, so I need to check what I'll need to do for my next hunting trip to France!!
  22. The Pard 007 is good, but if you are looking closely at budget, simply get one of the many torches and mounts than can be had from eBay for £10-15. You will soon find if that works for you or where you want to go from there, with a minimal initial outlay! These are great, I have a few, variable strength and adjustable beam out to around 100 yards. 5pcs SkyWolfEye Zoomable 50000LM T6 LED 18650 Flashlight Hiking Lamp Torch Light | eBay I still use Lamping kits, torches and also night vision, whatever works best for the job in hand!
  23. ????? There is more variety of WMR ammo than HMR, there are some very heavy WMR which hit hard but are not even close to flat. On the other hand, my go to WMR ammo these days is the 30g V-Max, which flies "VERY CLOSE " to the 17g HMR V-Max out to about 100yards. I've tried a few over the years and this is just some I seem to have left over!! My last WMR loved the CCI 40g below, and it was QUITE flat, but my latest WMR didn't get on so well with those! It's all down to what you need and what works for you, I have .22lr, HMR and WMR and they all have a plac
  24. In the Rimfire category as you requested......WMR. The WMR went out of favour in the UK with the introduction of the HMR just over 20 years ago, but the WMR has always been popular in the USA and the last 20 years has seen some cracking WMR ammo developments. Love mine!
